DESCRIPTION: The 109-mile ride starts at the north side of the HEB parking lot in Burnet, TX, about an hour outside Austin. The route heads west around Lake Buchanan and into the northern reaches of Texas Hill Country. It then winds around Cherokee and towards the river valley of Colorado Bend State Park. The course then heads back through Bend, Nix, Naruna and back to Burnet.

AVERAGE SPEED: 16 – 17 mph. A guide only; actual pace depends on the group and to maintain this average, there will be some significantly faster stretches.

TERRAIN: Rolling with a few more significant climbs. Multiple false-flat roads and long rolling hills with several fast and fun descents.

RIDER LEVEL: Experienced, self-confident riders who are comfortable and very safe in a group riding situation which could include pace-line riding, hilly terrain and exposure to significant traffic.

STORE STOPS: Buchanan Dam 22 miles (optional); Cherokee - 45 miles, Bend - 62 miles; Naruna - 90 miles (rest stop)

My wife Xan has graciously agreed to support a rolling rest stop. Water, friut,nuts...will be available. If you would like to bring your preferred snacks, she have at the stops.

OTHER:

· Helmets are mandatory on all my rides.

· Ride will be “no drop” but only assuming riders have properly matched themselves to the ride description, average speed and terrain.

· Please arrive early enough to prepare yourself + bike, have the 5-minute safety briefing to be ready for an on-time departure.

· In case of inclement weather, check this web site early on the morning of the ride.
