Recent estate find is this early wood green head duck call it measures 4 1/2 inches in length and is working condition has some very light varnish flaking on end of barrel. Looks as if it has a metal reed but am not sure photos show condition best. Very nice example for the money. Always happy to combine shipping if you win more than one auction. An early Green Head Duck Call Co. LA SALLE. ILLINOIS duck call. Dark wood with a green plastic mouthpiece and a rawhide hanger so you can wear it conveniently around your neck. The patent number(2556388) indicates it was patented in the 1950's, I'm unsure of just when it was manufactued but am guessing it's one of their earlier ones, all others I've seen here on EBAY indicate on the call that they are adjustable, this one does not. It's full functional and although I'm not a duck hunter, I'd say it sounds like a duck. The wood is in excellent condition, there is a chip on the green plastic mouthpiece. Patent number indicates that it was made in the early 1950s. Nice finish but there are a few blemishes so take a look at the photos. Call has patent number stamped on the call. And features an aluminum stopper and plastic reed. Call measures 4.375 inches. Includes Business card which has a zip code on it and his 1979 Obituary.
