WHAT IS COLOR IN MOTION 5K?
Exactly that.... It is your moving body plastered in an explosion of vibrant color with all your friends! How many times have you paid money to run around a few city blocks, drink a cup of warm Gatorade, eat a banana, and be given a t-shirt that you will probably only wear once every two months while doing yard work? Why not color outside the lines while being active, social, and a little wacky! The Color in Motion 5k gives you all these benefits plus unforgettable fun and heaps of memories! By the end of the CIM5k your blank canvas will be brighter than ever--your clothes, health, and outlook on life will be changed for the better!
WELL, HOW DOES IT WORK?
You just show up wearing white and we do the rest! As you sprint, jog, waddle, or leisurely stroll along you will be bombarded with bright colors that transform a group of ordinary runners into a moving rainbow. The color that you will be showered in is completely safe and washes off easily. If you don't think you can beat your friends with speed, see if you can be the real winner by coming out of the race covered head to toe in a vibrant springtime camouflage.

The race begins at night fall, but participants are encouraged to arrive early to browse through the vendors onsight offering free goods and coupons. Halo House is dedicated to easing the stress and suffering of leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma patients by providing fully furnished apartments while they are undergoing cancer treatment ... moreat Houston’s Texas Medical Center.

By offering families a safe, comfortable and affordable “home away from home” Halo House eliminates financial barriers to care, and ensures that more people will have access to life-saving treatment in Houston. For just $20 a day, patients find a much needed home at Halo House. More than just a safe place to stay, Halo House provides guests with some meals, shuttle tokens, and a personal volunteer Ambassador who welcomes each guest and supports them throughout their stay.
Thousands of people with leukemia or lymphoma travel to the Texas Medical Center every year for life-saving treatments to cure their cancer. They come because care is unavailable locally, or their local treatments have failed. Sadly, many of those people cannot stay in Houston to receive treatment because of the significant costs associated with short term housing.

Our mission at Halo House is to assist people of all ages who are being treated for a blood cancer by providing them with fully furnished housing at a very low cost while they are undergoing active treatment for their cancer at the Texas Medical Center.

Course Certification & Timing:

green6.2 is a USATF certified course (TX14035ETM). All 10K participants will be timed using a B-Tag which is attached to runner’s race bib. Your bib must be affixed correctly in order to record accurate start, split and finish times. Chip time is used to determine all age-group winners.

Chevron Houston Marathon & Aramco Houston Half Marathon Qualifier:

Should you complete the green6.2 in 51:08 or less, you are eligible to receive a guaranteed entry into the 2016 Chevron Houston Marathon or Aramco Houston Half Marathon.

Sun & Ski Pace Team:

Ready to qualify for Chevron Houston Marathon? The Sun & Ski Pace Team will be there for you. We are offering pace groups led by experienced pacers for 3 different finishing times: 48:00 min/finish, 49:30 min/finish and 51:00 min/finish. We hope you will find this support useful as you attempt to qualify for the Chevron Houston Marathon!

One of the biggest mistakes that runners make is starting out too fast. The pace team will run at an even pace per mile. If the pace feels too slow in the beginning of the race, that’s normal. If you find the pace too fast in the early miles, then slow down and drop back from the team so you’ll be able to finish the race.

The Sun & Ski Pace Team promises to provide fun and excitement for both first time, and experienced runners looking to reach their running goals – whether that’s a personal best or just getting across the finish line! Look for the pacers in the start corral holding signage, showing you were to meet them.

Restrictions:

Dogs, baby joggers, baby strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles or any other wheeled devices are not allowed on the race course.
