The 4th Annual Driving Jacks 5K will take place on the beautiful campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. ... more

Driving Jacks is a 501c(3) non-profit, student volunteer run, designated driver program at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Driving Jacks provides free, confidential, and non-judgmental safe rides to SFASU students and the Nacogdoches community. Our hours of operation are between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. To date, Driving Jacks has provided over 20,000 safe rides home!

The Driving Jacks 5K Fun Run is hosted by SFASU Driving Jacks Alumni as a fundraiser benefiting Driving Jacks.
Driving Jacks relies on private donations, fundraisers, and grants to pay for significant expenses such as rental car costs, gas, insurance, and much more. Because of limited funds they cannot always operate enough cars to meet their ever-increasing demand. Furthermore, current fundraising sources will eventually be outweighed by the increasing costs of expenses, potentially placing Driving Jacks' future operations in jeopardy.
We want to ensure their service and responsible choice message will continue well into the future. Additionally, free of financial restraints, Driving Jacks can focus on improving efficiency, and proactively assisting the start-up of other safe-ride programs throughout the USA.

On February 14, 2013 our lives were turned upside down. Our dad was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma a form of blood cancer. He received a stem cell transplant using his own cells. ... moreWe got the news he was in remission and we were joyful! He was a survivor!!! His immune system was very low and on December 24th he was admitted to the hospital with double pneumonia. We were devastated. On New Years Eve while in the hospital his lung collapsed and was sent to ICU. We prayed to the Almighty!! We knew that if it was the Lord's will then it was Dad's time. On January 10th our sweet daddy met his Lord and savior. This run is in his honor! Multiple Myeloma is a terrible disease and we need to make people aware and do all we can to research and find a cure!
