Q: What would be the absolute best possible reserve parachute for a"big-boy" paraglider pilot or PPG pilot to have? A: A High Energy Sports ... moreQuantum 440 with paragliding risers. No need to modify it! It is the world's best reserve parachute. With lines& risers specially engineered for the needs of a pilot in a paraglider harness. In fewer words. It's ideal. Engineered and built by Bill Gargano and Betty Pfeiffer at High Energy Sports. The Paraglider Version of the Quantum Parachute has shorter lines that connect directly to'V-risers' aka'split risers' which then link directly to the shoulders of your paragliding harness. The Quantum 440 for PG has 22 spectra lines. This means that 11 lines go to each side of the riser set(total: 22 lines. 11 to each shoulder) The centerline also has a'y'shaped split so that the apex is evenly pulled down by the right and left riser sets. This arrangement allows the PG pilot to be attached to the parachute in the same way that a skydiver would descend under such a parachute.with the focal point(s) of the lines being at the pilot's right and left shoulders. In contrast. A'typical' reserve parachute for paragliding has a bridle of about 4 feet with a loop at the end. This 4 foot bridle is linked to a"y-bridle, common in paragliding, which then connects to the two shoulders of the PG harness. This arrangement, while quite common in the PG world, is not controllable or steerable because there is a'constriction' to a single bridle between the pilot and the canopy.which is less than ideal. ~~~~~~~~“Brand New” This extra-large Quantum 440 emergency reserve parachute with split risers is brand new. Clean, and 100% undamaged. This parachute was built to the most up-to-date contemporary standards of materials and workmanship, with V-tab construction, Spectra lines, and two V-shaped Type 18 Nylon paragliding bridle sets(or riser sets) The bridle/riser set is 100% clean and it is 100% undamaged. The deployment bag is 100% c

Para-Plane- one of the earliest square canopies- and it's in MINT shape! Manufactured by Para-Flite in the early 70s. Serial number 5X9093 Poynter's describes this as a"Para-Plane Cloud" produced from 1971- 1974. Comes with original Para-Plane Capewell risers with ratchet trims and plastic dowels. Also includes the original Deployment bag This canopy is the grand-daddy of the modern day ram-air parachutes! This canopy was produced before the invention of slider. And has the PCR- Pilot Chute Reefing System- the bridle is routed through the rings on the top skin, thus slowing down the opening. Pretty cool! The canopy is in really good shape. And has very few jumps. Only(very minor) damage is some slight burns from the reefing bridle on the top skin- no repairs are needed. This is a great collectors piece. It is 150% impractical ... moreto buy this as an every day parachute- it's 40 years old. And packs HUGE!
The auction is for a BRAND NEW C9 parachute canopy canopy. The diameter is 28ft comes with 4 line release + steering toggles As you can guess. The pictures of a canopy flying are of a different one, with identical colors. The pictures of a bagged canopy are of the actual one that's for sale. This canopy is BRAND NEW. STILL SEALED IN THE ORIGINAL BAG It is 100% complete and un-altered. Setup four Airforce Quick-links, Four line release included Date Of Manufacture is is 12/1986, This canopy IS BRAND NEW(manufactured 12/1986. It's NOS- new old stock) RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*73c7e%3D%3E-13dfc7a2d5b-0xf4-
The auction is for a Pioneer 23ft skydiving reserve canopy made by Pioneer Parachute Company(now Pioneer Aerospace) Canopy was setup on two risers. And is currently on two L-bars. includes wooden toggles, date of manufacture June 1976. Serial# 584893, excellent shape. No damage, Part No 1.019 GR-4 made from ripstop material(predecessor to F111) the data card shows last repack done in 1982- this canopy has been stored for over 30 years! this is a very rare version and color pattern of the this canopy In case this is not obvious. This will NOT make a good reserve canopy for every day jumps. this is a 37 year old piece of technology which is obsolete. However. This should be good for a collection, a prop, a good canopy for rigging practice, or to scare your local jumpers/riggers:
The auction is for a Strong Enterprises 26ft skydiving reserve canopy made by Strong Enterprises Canopy was setup as a reserve and is currently on four rapide links date of manufacture Jul 1984. Serial# 1724, this was used as a reserve up until 2008(yes. Really) It has had 2 rides, model 26ft LoPo LITE The canopy has a couple of patches. All professionally done The dacron lines are in good shape. Should be good for a prop. A good canopy for rigging practice, or to scare your local jumpers/riggers: Would also make a nice canopy for water jumps for an experienced BASE jumper.
Untitled 2 Pioneer 28 ft Sport round canopy. This baby was made in Oct 1963 and has been jumped hard. Overall. It's in poor shape. There are holes, patches, and ripstop tape that's coming undone. In it's current shape it's a wonderful collectors piece and a terrible piece of life saving gear. You can still see the original Pioneer logo. The DOM and the SN. The FAA TSO-C23 is visible as well. According to Poynter's this is a PN 1.0273 28ft Sport canopy- bias cut Calendered Type III ripstop nylon with a vent collar.
Big Ol' PD-260 Main(F111) Great canopy in perfect shape. no rips/tears/patches. Only 250 jumps total. GREAT flare power. nice soft openings.dacron lines in very good shape, lots of life left! non-collapsible slider. Packed indoors on carpet nearly always. well cared for. it was loaded at just over 1.0.This thing would make a great first canopy for the newly licensed jumper or for another monster jumper like me. Item also listed on dropzone.com. DOM: 3/1994 Jumps: 250
Mark III Hang Glider reserve system. This is an OLD SCHOOL HG throwout reserve, 22ft canopy on a 18ft bridle, includes a freebag. And outer bag and a manual, This canopy was manufactured by GQ Security in April 1980 This is a very old school kit. Which looks to have spent most of it's life in a closet- it's in excellent shape, Please consider that this is NOT MODERN(33+ years old) kit- I recommend this is only bought by a collerctor or someone who knows what they are doing.
Mini-Cricket 130 by GlidePath Still produced by Flight Concepts 7 cell F111 reserve canopy, Manufactured 02/1993, This reserve is certificated for up to 198lbs and up to 130 kts. Manufacturer recommends 145 lbs max suspended weight, This reserve canopy seems to have been exposed to some moisture. There's a little bit of red bleeding on the lines(from the material) The slider grommets have some gunk, and the slider stops have some rust-colored staining. I am not sure about calling this an airworthy reserve. But I would say it's definitely a good canopy to kite, use for a project, or use for rigging practice. Theoretically it may still be jumpable, but I am making NO GUARANTEES as to it's airworthiness! Sold as-is.
Stiletto 120 9 cell elliptical ZP canopy, I am guesstimating 700-900 jumps on the wing, the current lineset is severely out of trim, there are a number of small rip stop adhesive tape patches on the top skin center cell, no slider included Manufactured 10/1993, This would be a good kiting or a project canopy. If you wanted to reline it. And add a slider, you could still jump it, but that's probably not worth the costs involved. Sold as-is.
GQ Security UNIT 7 cell canopy- 200 sq ft DOM 05/1979. Canopy material and lines are nice shape and don't have too many jumps on them, The material is ripstop. But it is the 1.25oz fabric(liter version of what we know today as F111) Lines look like braided kevlar the sale is for the canopy + slider + links This is a 34+ year old 7 cell old school canopy. I strongly recommend this be bought by someone who DOES NOT intend to jump it. a;06d2.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp73%28%3Ea%3B06d2-13f572f332e-0xdd-

I don't have to tell you this sport ... moreis dangerous correct? No, I don't have to tell you but I am! Don't bu y this canopy if you don't know how to operate it. A.R.R. Precision's Popular All-Purpose 9 Cell Canopy The Falcon 9 cell canopy was introduced by Precision Aerodynamics in 1986. The canopy was designed utilizing the same successful"sizing techniques" which had become so popular in the Raven main/reserve. The idea of producing a different canopy size for a specific weight range was quickly picked up by other manufacturers. The Falcon blueprints call for F-111 fabric and either Dacron or Spectra suspension line. The canopy is available in nine different model sizes. Ranging from 120 to 300 square feet. The larger canopies. When jumped at the lower end of the weight range, provide docile and forgiving flight characteristics making the Falcon ideal for use by students and novice jumpers. The Falcon is a favorite canopy many drop zone's Accelerated Freefall applications. When jumped at the upper end of the weight range, the airfoil transforms into a zippy sportster mode, while maintaining predictable dynamic flight stability and soft and easy landings. The airfoil and aspect ratio are

STRATO STAR PARACHUTE SKYDIVE SKYDIVING PARACHUTING BASE JUMPING CANOPY RAMAIR KITE KITING SSX RED GOLD AND BLACK. From the depths of the back room of my rigging loft. This canopy came out of a box marked 1980. It has been in storage since then. This canopy started out as a(stock color pattern) red, gold, and black Strato-Star built by Para-Flite as a FIVE CELL canopy. A local northwest rigger had an idea to‘enhance’ the canopy. In order to make the canopy perform better for a heavier jumper, it was transformed into a SEVEN CELL. The original stabilizer panels were unstitched. A"new" red cell was added on each end increasing the span by 36 inches on each end. This increase the square footage by approximately 50 square feet bringing it up to approximately 230 square feet. The stabilizers were then re-attached at the outboard edge ... moreof the canopy. The original suspension lines were used as well as new lines were added for the"new" endcells. The control system was changed to take advantage of the wider span of the canopy. Crossports were added throughout the canopy. Packing tabs were added. There is no data panel which was a common occurrence for some of the early Para-Flite canopies. The history of this canopy is undocumented. The original Strato-Star was one of the very first ram-air canopies that was widely accepted by the skydiving community. There is no slider or connector links. Looks like it could have several hundred jumps on it. It is up to the buyer to determine that this item could be considered airworthy. Regardless if it is deemed airworthy or not. If you win the auction, the item is yours. Seller is not responsible for any use or mis-use of this item by the buyer. The canopy probably belongs in your skydiving museum rather then going out the door of an airplane. This canopy could be lots of fun just flying it on the beach. Not sure if I would trust it jumping off a bridge. Hopefully. The photos will help to answer your questions. More photos are available upon your request. By bidding

This is an ok shape. But fairly old canopy manufactured by Glide-Path(now Flight Concepts) it is 220 sq ft 7 cell made from F111 Estimating for the canopy and lines to have about 400 jumps. the material/dacron lines seem to be in decent shape. There's some dirt spatter on the material. the sale includes a slider Manufactured October 1988 This is a 30+ year old 7 cell old school canopy. As such it is not a good beginner wing. In fact. This should only be bought by collectors, people wishing to do rigging practice, packing practice, or wanting to have a cool display piece. I take zero responsibility if you decide to jump this wing. 2p5ddv.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2B26rk%3E2p5ddv-1443c3c2bd4-0xe0-

PARA-COMMANDER Mark II parachute Canopy Date of manufacture 09/1969 Serial number PC699817 Comes with Capewell risers and wooden toggles. All the lines(suspension. Steering, apex and crown) are in great shape. The material feels strong. But there are a couple of adhestive rip stop patches on the canopy. If I had to estimate I would say this canopy has under 200 jumps. It's a great collectors item! The pattern is called Red Keyhole.
PARA-COMMANDER Mark1 Canopy I believe the pattern is called"Blue Keyhole" Date of manufacture November 1965. Serial number PC652287 Comes with Capewell risers and regular toggles. All the lines(suspension. Steering, apex and crown) are in good shape, but there are a numer of small repairs made. The material feels strong. HOWEVER there are quite a few stick-on patches, as well as a number of sewn-in patches This canopyobviously had a few landings in trees and such. It's a great collectors item. Or if you are willing to put some work into it, you could put it back in teh sky(provided you know the limitations of jumping an old school round canopy)
Safire 2 129 with only 200 of jumps on the canopy. Mint, as brand new. Flight and open great. I'm selling it because of downsize. Canopy has been packed indoor on carpet only! No snags or tears. I purchased it new. And now it needs a new home! I was super happy with the openings and overall flight, on a new canopy now and would like to pass this one on. That canopy have original lines which simply will do another 400- 600 jumps. Canopy only. It does not include risers, pilot chute or bag. I live in NYC. So, if you around you can do a local pickup. Parachute 6' from center. 12' diameter. White canopy with attachment strings, Great Dorm decoration, Vintage. This auction is for this parachute canopy with attachment strings only. Great dorm kids room ceiling novelty decoration. Might be nylon. Feels like silk. I first thought it was silk and it still might be- but let's stick with probably Nylon for now) This parachute is used and in very good condition. It might be a Switlik parachute. Maybe a cargo chute? Not sure. I had it since the 70's while using it as a dorm decoration in college. Great decoration! It has no stains. Rips or holes. It has all the attachment strings. Laying flat is measures about 6' from center. From center to outside edge is 4’ without stretching it. With stretching it about 6’ fully stretched out. It looks better hanging with a bow in it(not ... moreflat against the ceiling) So I believe 12’ or less diameter with still maintaining a concaveness to it. Of course smaller than 6’ would be a larger concave by pinning the edge/strings back a little bit. The picture doesn't do it justice. All one has to do is use the strings to hang from tacks in the ceiling. Pretty neat cool novelty gift. Fits perfect in a dorm or kids room. The decorative options are endless. If needed. Wash on gentle cycle- air dry. Or consult a dry cleaner. As far as I can tell, it does not need to be washed at this time. Selling my Nitron 135 Main Canopy. Read all about them here http:www.precision.aero/nitron.htm I am the original and only owner. I have had it for a number of years and made about 25-50 jumps per year on it. I estimate total jumps at 550-650. It was relined right around 525 jumps. It has a factory patch where some small holes were starting and I didn't want them to grow. As you can see in the photos. The patch is much brighter than the rest, This is because fluorescent parachute fabric loses it's brightness very fast. It does not lose strength any faster than non-fluorescent colors. But it does make it look more"worn" than it actually is. It has a small blood stain near the patch where I scraped my finger on landing once. One line is black in color as I caught it on the door and cut it. When they replaced it, they no longer ... moreoffered the yellow line. I am selling because I lost weight and moved to a smaller size(Nitron 120) Obviously I like these canopies very much. I find it to be a less radical and easier to handle way to get into elliptical wing forms than some other models. Nice smooth on heading openings. New this canopy is $1880. This one has more than half of it's life left for sure. I jumped this from 180-220 pounds exit weight and always stood up but if you don't have a lot of experience I recommend loading a little less. Maybe 135-160 pounds. This canopy will last you for hundreds of jumps. Hoping to get at least $750 but you might win it for less.

AMERICAN PAPILLON PARACHUTE SKYDIVE SKYDIVING PARACHUTING JUMPING ROUND CANOPY. This canopy was probably last jumped in the 1980s. Originally designed in France. This canopy is the"American Papillon" version manufactured by Para-Flite, Incorporated, in the USA under license from the Etudes et Fabrications Aeronautiques. Similar to the Para-Commander designed by Pioneer Parachute Company. The Papillon was very popular with accuracy competitors who preferred its stable decent rate while applying brakes. The nylon taffeta fabric is in very good condition. The blue stars sewn to the stabilizer panels are very nicely done. The 550 pound tensile strength suspension lines are intact showing very little, if any damage. There is one blue and one black Type VII, Capewell small lug, risers with wooden toggles included. There are several pages ... morefrom the owner’s manual(NOT INCLUDED) showing information and features of the canopy. If you are a good"backyard engineer" maybe you could turn this into a para-sail.
