1950 Conn Constellation 28M Alto Sax#337681. This horn is the most original near perfect horn I have ever seen and I doubt you will ever see another this ... moreperfect and original. The original conn pads are still in the horn and it has the original case that is just as mint as the horn. Comes with all the original accessories such as neck strap. Conn nu-shine polish, Conn"comet" mouthpiece kit along with a MC Gregory mouthpiec kit#18086 as well as many old reed holders for long gone music stores with the reeds purchased. This horn is a true time machine. There are no scratches or dents. The only wear is on the plastic key guard there are two of the original lines that have worn off either through contact with the players pant leg or rubbing in the case. From Steve Goodsons website M SERIES 260XXX– 834XXX We’re talking about REAL saxophones here! There’s nothing on this Earth quite like one of these at full song! The Conqueror series(26M and 30M) have very elaborate adjustment mechanisms and solid silver key touches. The Constellation 28M alto has three octave vents and the best feeling mechanism around. Along with a high tech(for the era) plastic key guard. It was designed by my good friend and legend Santy Runyon. The 6M alto; 10M tenor; and 12M baritone are the famous"naked lady" horns. They lost their rolled tone holes after WWII. deduct 20% the alto lost its microtuner in the 50’s; the tenor got an underslung octave mechanism in the 50’s; Another reviewer says this: I think the 28Ms are real serious saxes for real serious players. I wonder why do not so many pro-players use them. The keys are very comfortable to play even when compare to the MKVI. It might be not as easy to play as the new french style keys. But it is very very close. Furthermore, this horn has a characteristic sound which could not be found on any brand new modern horn. I think Mr. Santy Runyon is a real bloodly genius! If you ever wanted to play ones of these when they were new and could not afford one or were not even born

SHREDDER. LLC ITEM DESCRIPTION DETAILS Details given in easy Question& Answer dialog: What is this item? You're in luck! I'm a professional ... moresax player and can give you the exact style and sound of this horn as you read through this. It is a Conn Alto Sax 20M. The serial number on this is in the high-227.000s which means it was made in 1970. The serial number is preceded by an"N" But it is NOT stamped Mexico. Like some of the N series. Having played this horn. It has a bright, but thick sound. Speak s very nicely. I would definitely play this on gigs or a studio session. I like horns that have a bright sound with more punch(more of an R&B edge) I tend to like a thinner sound. But the thic ker sound of this sax has the a fullness you don't get with brightness. Very nice. It is designed with the high F# extra key like all the newer horns have, but you can still use the altissimo fingerings to play the high F# too. It has the full range of low Bb to high F# Note for this horn: the low notes play well on this horn by pushing your lower-jaw further down the reed area of the mouthpiece and keeping your air stream strong. meaning you are putting more of the reed in your mouth while keeping good muscle tension. The altissimo(if you know the fingerings) notes come out very nicely. Keys move well and all notes speak nicely. I play sax professionally all the time; and know how to tweak horns. I went through this horn and made all the necessary adjustments as if I needed it for a gig. It plays very well. Ready to go! I took a few photos of the sax from different angles for you. See the Condition Section below for more details on targeted areas in the photos. It comes with the neck-piece. And the original Conn case. There is no end-of-horn cap included; and doesn't need one. The octave key is designed to not come up passed the end of the horn. You could still use one. But it is not needed. The case works perfectly fine. 3 latches on the front. The case has one open compartment inside to store

I am a retired band director. I buy instruments for companies that rent them out. Some instruments only require small adjustments that I can do. I sell these horns on E-bay at a great discount to the buyer. Quality used horns are made stronger and with more precision than newer cheap horns. They can be repaired and will maintain a value if you take care of them. You will have a hard time getting a better value for your dollar than from buying my instruments. Check my feedback. I ship through US Postal Service parcel post(7 to 9 days) or flat rate(3 to 4 days) if it fits or priority(3 to 4 days) All student beginning instruments have been play tested. That means all of the keys. Valves, slides, pads, corks work as they should and the horn responds on all notes. I only replace parts that stop the horn from playing. I do not recondition horns. ... moreA reconditioned horn would cost about twice of my asking price. These horns are all used and will show some wear although with many. You have to really look close to find the wear. I only buy and sell name brand horns that have a proven record of performance and reliability. The beginning students horns are all ready to play with the mouthpieces cleaned and disinfected and include cases. I try and describe any blemishes or dings, dents and scratching as possible. This is a very nice and clean sax. Actually has rolled tone holes. Which save on pad wear and seals better than stamped. Horns plays up and down register. I put my Brillhart#2 on it and it played well. Keys were nice and tight(not sloppy or rattly) pads, cork and springs seems to be in decent condition. Has a 6 digit ser no. 7407xx. Minimal lacquer scratches, and a small flat on the lower bell. has a sm ding on the side. The pics should show everything as it really is, so take a close look. This one has nothing to hide. I have to sell as is, but will back up my listing in any case. Read my feedback, I sell what I advertise. This also will qualify for the EBay Buyer Protection plan. Will not be needed for any of my listings! This comes as you see it. No case or mouthpiece. Most alto cases or gig bags can be used. It's a pretty standard ... moresize. Will ship anywhere in the cont. USA for a flat $20 and includes ins. for sale amt. I pack very carefully as well! Thank you for looking and Happy E-Baying!

EXTREMELY GREAT CONDITION FOR THIS VINTAGE CG CONN ALTO SAXOPHONE. I AM NO SAXOPHONE EXPERT BUT BASED ON THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE AND THE TWO EXPERTS I HAVE SHOWN IT TO THIS IS A VERY RARE AND EXCELLENT CONDITION SAX. THE EARLY SERIAL# 84738) DATES IT SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 1918 AND 1929. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS AN"ARTIST" SAX AND I ALSO HAVE IT COME UP AS A NEW WONDER SERIES 1 OR AS A VIRTUOSO DELUXE. I INCLUDED A PICTURE FROM THE WEBSITE THAT I FOUND THE INFORMATION ON THE SAX. THE GOLD PLATING IS STILL HEAVY MOST EVERYWHERE WITH SOME MINOR WEAR ON BASE. THIS HAS A MAN(WHO LOOKS PRETTY MUCH NAKED TO ME) HOLDING A HARP. NOT A NAKED LADY BUT A NAKED MAN. HAS BEAUTIFUL PEARL KEYS AS WELL. A FEW MINOR DINGS HERE AND THERE BUT OVERALL WITH THE INCREDIBLE DETAILED ENGRAVING AND THE AGE OF THIS SAX. IT IS A REAL FIND. WAS PURCHASED FOR MY ... moreFATHER-IN-LAW TO PLAY WHEN HE WAS IN SCHOOL AND HE IS NOW 67. SHHHH DON'T TELL HIM I TOLD YOU HIS AGE) BEEN IN HIS CLOSET IN THE CASE FOR ALL THESE YEARS. This saxophone is the Naked Lady Alto sax in Low Pitch and is a professional model. From what I can tell. This was made between 1935 and 1947 because it does have rolled tone holes which stopped being produced in 1947. The serial number is 279824 with an'A' preceding it and an'L' following. The A stands for alto and the L stands for low-pitch. This saxophone was made in Elkhart, Indiana and has the original lacquer, though the lacquer is showing wear. There is a very small dent on the bell that is barely noticeable and should be relatively easy to fix. I just had new pads put on all the keys and a new cork, and it plays beautifully! Overall, this instrument is in very good playing condition. The Naked Lady model in low pitch is said to be the finest sax ever produced. It comes in a hard case, though I am sure it is not the ... moreoriginal case because it is in near perfect condition. I will ship outside of the U.S. as long as the buyer has sufficient positive feedback and payment is received.

CONN 6M"Naked Lady" ALTO SAXOPHONE#271348 Here is an early Conn 6M"Naked Lady" alto saxophone. Serial number M271348A, manufactured in 1936. This version of the 6M has rolled tone-holes, under-slung octave key, micro-tuner neck, pivoting thumb-hook, and the low B and Bb keys on the left side of the bell. It has about 90% of its original lacquer intact, with a few wear spots on the bow, body, neck and touch-points, and a few scratches. There are a couple of small dings in the neck, though no signs of bowing or bulging, so it hasn't been bent. Also a few tiny dings on body and bow, very minor stuff. Pads, corks and felts are older, though still intact. Pads are sealing and the horn blows easily right down to the low Bb. It's perfectly playable as is, but if you're really going to be putting some mileage on it, ... moreyou may want your horn tech to go over it. The sound is classic, glorious, gorgeous Conn 6M: deep, rich, complex. That's why we play these older, vintage horns. Comes in its original Conn case. Serious offers only. Please. Saxophone is in used condition. It will need to be restored. It has scratches and scuffs. There are no discernible dents/ dings. The pads have wear and some may need replacing. There are a couple of keys that may need repairs. The octave key does not appears to be sticking. There is some severe tarnish and oxidation. Sax is very old and will likely need an overhaul. VINTAGE 1921 BUESCHER LOW PITCH ALTO TRUE TONE SAXOPHONE COMP W/CONN MOUTHPIECE Up for auction here is this very old Buescher Alto True Tone Saxophone that I recently acquired at a Northern Indiana Estate Sale. I don’t know much at all about this type of instrument. So I will describe it to you with both words(as best I can) and pictures. The front is beautifully engraved THE BUESCHER ELKHART. IND. The back reads TRUE-TONE TRADE MARK REGISTERED inside of triangle and tuning bar. Above this. It reads LOW PITCH LICENSE PAT. DEC. 8. 1914. At the top of the this information is the serial number of 97308. Which dates it to 1921. This sax is remarkable in that it is virtually DENT FREE! There are a very few minor dings. Which I could not even capture in the pictures. You really have to look for them. As you can see in my pictures. Most of the original ... morefinish is still present. Our daughter plays the alto sax in her high school jazz and marching bands. So we asked her to play this one, just so we could see if it played.and it did! It actually sounded good- none of the pads leaked, and I don't believe any repairs are needed. The neck piece is also in good condition(see pictures) The cork looks good. And the Conn Standard Steelay mouthpiece is also in very good condition. Also included in this auction is the piece that goes where the neck goes when not using the neck(barrel? A music lyre, a Pro Sling neck strap, and the original case, which is in pretty good condition for its age. The hardware is still complete and in working order. However. The handle has been replaced with an old leather belt(see pictures) Please take a look at my pictures. And ask any questions you may have. This saxophone would make a fantastic addition to your vintage collection, or(with a little TLC) may be the perfect instrument for your Jazz Band. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DON’T INTEND TO PAY. PLEASE DO NOT BID! I gladly ship to International bidders. But please ask questions, if any, before bidding. While I strive to be as knowledge

Conn"Chu Berry" so named New Wonder series ll Silver plated ALTO Saxophone pat'd. date dec. 3. 1914- 1119954- A- M196925 beautiful condition for a 1927 Horn! Chu Berry" is the unofficial name of a series of saxophones produced by the C.G.Conn company during the 1920s. Though it is more accurate to refer to them as the Conn'New Wonder' Series II. Even then significant ambiguity remains. Firstly. C.G.Conn never used the term"Chu Berry" to refer to any of their saxophones. Furthermore, Berry actually played a model of tenor sax generally known as the Conn"Transitional" and is not known to have ever played a New Wonder Series II. Some saxophone owners(particularly ... moreon use the term"Chu Berry" in reference to any Conn saxophone made between 1910 and the mid-1930s. Including soprano, alto, baritone and C melody saxophones, none of which Berry played. Unfortunately. The term"Chu Berry saxophone" is misleading(and therefore potentially meaningless) because it has no accurate and universally agreed definition. This easily causes confusion e.g. to non-experts the Conn New Wonder Series II looks very similar to the New Wonder Series I or the"New Invention" model of circa 1910. To complicate matters further, there was no abrupt cut-off point between the New Wonder Series II and the 6M or 10M. Instead, there was a gradual evolution in the design. Between 1930 and 1934(approximately serial numbers 244700 to 260999) Conn manufactured around 17,000"Transitional" or"cross-over" models. Most of these so-called"Transitional" saxophones were altos and they combine some features of the New Wonder Series II with others from the later Conn 6M(alto) and 10M(tenor) designs- in varying percentages. For example, early transitionals can be 80/20 New Wonder II and 10M, others are 60/40 or 50/5

Featured in this auction is a pre-owned Vintage Conn Alto Saxophone. This saxophone has the engraved'Shooting Star' on the bell and is marked simply Conn U.S.A. There are some condition issues. Most obviously the dings and dents on the curve. None on the bell, however. The finish is about 75% in tact. With'spot' wear throughout. As to its function. I believe with proper cleaning, etc. this will make someone a very nice instrument. The pearl keys are all accounted for and to my eyes. The pads don't look too bad. This saxophone has the Serial Number 721059. Which I believe dates it to 1958. Included is the Leblanc brown leather case. Which is in good used condition and has a black plush interior. I have owned this Conn 6M alto saxophone since 2009 and had it overhauled by Randy Jones at Tenormadness shortly after purchasing this horn. Randy does great repair work and is well regarded. The serial number is 297.XXX, built in 1941. This is the VIII stamp version of the horn, which is more sought after, it has the stamp on the body tube(by the serial number) and also on the neck. It is original lacquer, at about 85% It has rolled tone holes. It plays with a fat, spread tone. It's very in tune and responsive. The horn will come in the case pictured. The saxophone fits well in the case. The case is functional, the zipper sometimes catches. I only need to sell the horn as I am purchasing my first house in the coming month and need to raise funds. I will ONLY ship with tracking and insurance. International bidders are welcome, but will ... morebe responsible for paying the shipping costs with tracking and insurance, which can be quite costly. I insist on this for my protection and also the buyers protection. Please let me know if you have any questions. I am a professional musician in the Minneapolis area.
Up for bid is a 1928 CONN Alto Sax. M210634, with its original case. There are a few small dents in the bell and bell bow. All of the keys work well, except the flat one with the cross-hatching. It works, but comes back slow. The Mother of Pearl keys are all good and the rollers. There is some plating off in places and wear where it should be. The neck is nicked up on its left side, but not its right. This is a good candidate for restoration. The inside of the case is purple, not blue. Please email me with any questions.

Gold Plated C. G. Conn"Artist Model" Alto Saxophone- SN 135666 Here is yet one more incredible example of of the exquisite beauty of the late 1920's/early 1930's Conn saxophones. A number of special order saxophones were produced throughout Conn's"golden era" and these horns are referred today as the"Artist Models" This saxophone. Serial number 135666, was hand engraved with the fine"push cut" engraving style from head to toe with finely detailed patterns and scenes. The Conn engravers of this period were artists in the true sense of the word and it was these artist model saxophones which showcased their true artistic creativity. This particular alto has floral engraving throughout with the Conn signature in the middle of the bell engraving. The floral pattern is as lush as it gets. see ... morephotos for details) The Conn"Artist Model" saxophones are quite rare and are indeed a treasured piece in any saxophone collection. To add to their already ornate style. These saxophones were also inlayed with finely cut mother of pearl on all of the touch pieces(palm keys, right hand side keys, table keys, alternate F# key, low C and Eb keys, and the octave key) This horn is in excellent original condition. There is some finish wear. Mostly on the back side of the horn, where you can see the silver plating underneath. There are NO damages and NO repaired damages ever, including no resoldered joints. I found this sax to have a very big and warm sound that is extremely expressive. Intonation is accurate and the quality of sound found in a gold plated top shelf Conn is hard to beat. This is an amazing alto! Please feel free to ask any other questions by calling at(314) 664-1234 or email us from our website. This auction is for a VELVETONE VELVET TONE ALTO SAXOPHONE with Metal Body Cap. Case, Mouthpiece, Ligature, Mouthpiece Cap, Neckstrap and Box of Rico Reeds I showed this to a local saxophone dealer who gave me the following information. He told me it was a Velvetone Alto Saxophone which was probably manufactured in the 1920's-1930's. He said that Velevetone saxophones were stencil instruments of the the C.G. Conn Company and that this saxophone was manufactured in Elkhart. Indiana. He said that this instrument is in good condition overall but could use a good overhaul. He said that many of the key pads were original. He also told me that these instruments are very desirable and play great! The saxophone is silver in color with an interior gold wash bell. The saxophone's serial number is 33946 as pictured above below the thumb ... morerest. Below the serial number is the letter"L" indicating that this is a low pitch model. The"A" above the serial number indicates that it is an alto saxophone. The saxophone has the fitted accompanying neck and the fitted top metal body plug. Also with this saxophone are a leather neckstrap. A Premiere mouthpiece, ligature and cap, a mostly unused, opened box of Rico reeds and the original fitted case which is still serviceable though not gorgeous by any means. Up for auction is a rare 1928 nickel plated Conn New Wonder II/ Chu Berry" alto saxophone. Made in Elkhart, Ind. The nickel plate finish is astounding. There is virtually no wear and it shines and gleams like a polished mirror. Aside from some small dings on the inner bow, the horn looks virtually brand new. The serial number also places it at the time when the best Chu Berry saxes were made. You will note the"nail file" G# unique to the New Wonder II/ Chu Berry, and the micro tuner neck. It also come with it's original nickel plated end plug. Aside from it's gorgeous appearance and condition. This sax plays like a typical well set up Chu Berry- spectacularly. The pads look virtually new and seal perfectly. The intonation is great. The action is tight, consistent and light. I always felt the Chu Berry was the best sounding ... moresax ever made, and this one is no exception. The cork and felt work is up to date, and the sax has been oiled. I have noticed a lot of sellers on ebay are not offering a trial period. THAT IS BS. You have my word I will stand behind my items. If there is any problem I will be there for the buyer! If there is any reason you would NOT give me positive feedback or all 5 stars contact me first. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS WELCOME ON CASE BY CASE SITUATION EMAIL ME FIRST I will charge an extra 10 dollars on top of the actual shipping charge for the extra running around and paper work etc. I Have here a 1935 Conn metro neck Tranny alto Sax with STD'D M on the neck. This is so close to an official 6m the only thing I think it lacks is one roller in the G# cluster. I had my tech of 40 years get it gig ready. He replaced 5 pads. Reseated some pads. Checked for leaks and adjusted her. She is in nice shape. has some red oxidation on her in places. I took a little ... moresoap and wiped an area and it seemed to come off. see pic 4 in the middle of the 2 braces the lighter spot) The integrit y of metal is fine etc. So with the right treatment I think you can get the red oxidation off. Although it looks pretty cool and vintage the way it is? As far as the neck goes my tech and I think someone started re finishing the horn but quit after the neck. SEE PIC 8) Prior to that not sure if body was ever relac'd. Look at pics be the judge. The neck fits very snugly on the sax. I tri ed putting the metro neck on my 1937 VIII alto and it would go on but it seemed very tight. But when I tried putting my 1937 VIII neck on the metro 1935 it was too tight for me to try to dare push down. So I believe this metro neck to be correct for this 1935 tranny. Ser ial Number M268701A Has pants side guard The more modern G# cluster et c( SEE PIC 11) A ll rollers work Bell keys on same side I am not a tech but I looked her over and seems no obvious big dents or past repairs I could find! MAY BE ONE LOWER BRACE THAT HAS A SOLDER REPAIR etc( see all pics) Maybe a tiny tiny bump on the bottom of bell( see pic 7) No bad old horn smell on her. Tunable neck

I AM CURRENT LY LISTING A NUMBER OF VINTAGE MOUTHPIECES PLUS SOME OTHER RANDOM SAX ITEMS THAT CAME FROM A LARGE LOT I RECENTLY PURCHASED. I AM HAPPY TO COMBINE SHIPPING ON THE PURCHASE OF MULTIPLE ITEMS. This auction is for a vintage Conn Standard Steelay alto saxophone mouthpiece. This is the type of mouthpiece that would have come as standa rd equipment with either a late New Wonder series II( C hu Berry) or early 6M(Naked Lady) model saxophone. It is in very good used condition. There is one tiny nick that I don't believe will affect playability in the least. This piece has a large round chamber and scooped inner side walls with a small tip opening. ... moreIt appears to be all original. This would be a great match for your vintage Conn(or any other brand) alto saxophone. Feel free to email me with questions or to request additional pictures. Thanks again for looking!

1924 Conn model 00"artist special burnished gold thruout with pearl rollers and buttons. NY" non-micro tuner neck(very rare for this time as most had the microtuner, underslung key) Engraving: a full nude women from the back with long hair(yes I will try to get better pics or the naked lady. Im terriable at it sorry) Low pitch, 1924 new wonder I model.RTL.some scratches, one ding I could find. Condition: no mouthpiece. Will find a suitable case, you might want to keep gold plate as is or polish professionally, as tarnished thruout as been sitting 40 years. Needs new pads, full adjust and regulate although all keys move freely. Price when new was over 2500.00 for this model per saxpics. Non operational at present, pads look original. Thanks! Bell, bow, bell lip fine, look to have no resolder or major repairs, no neck pull down.

Here is a fine playing Conn-made Continental Colonial alto sax with new pads and genuine mother of pearl key touches. It has the full complement of Conn pivot pin set screws(see example in pic) The horn plays all the way from top to bottom with the sweet sound that the best of these older Conn-made altos were noted for. There are no air leaks. Pads. Corks, and felts are fine. The original finish is at least 80% It has a few small point pings that are difficult to see beyond about three feet- one on the neck and several at the base where there is also a very small"flat" None of these affect tone or function, and they look OK. The serial number is 118644, but it is not in the Conn series. It was probably made in the 1930's and looks and sounds like a 6M. The soft"case" certainly isn't original and probably was intended ... morefor a different instrument, but it will protect the horn during shipment. It will be packed like fine china. We'll start it at $75 and see where it goes. No reserve. U.S. buyer to pay $28.00 for shipping. International buyer to pay actual cost of shipping 20 pounds by USPS Air Priority. Paypal only.

On the bell is CONN USA with stars. Cannot find any model number, serial number on the back is 4974, not sure what that means, perhaps this is a 50M model? Don't know the condition of the pads, they feel soft, do not see any missing pads. Don't see anything broken, all the levers seems to work fine. No dents, can only see a ding or 2, very minor. Length of this is 21-1/2" from bottom of the curve to top of the stem without the neck in it. Hard case not in very good condition but will ... morebe good for protection during shipment. We do not play any instruments so please ask questions if you are unsure before bidding. Thanks In regards to the 4 digit serial number. Found this out on the web, not sure if this is accurate or not. The 4-digit horn mystery was solved.they are Vito bodies which were made at Art Best(Coin Art) in Nogales. Az plant before it went under.the ones remaining in the plant when Conn took it over. Rather than tossing the bodies and retooling, they just engraved the remaining bodies with the Shooting Stars and kept the tooling, and thus was born the 50M. Pickups are always welcome.
