SAXOPHONE COLLECTORS ATTENTION: For Sale: A spectacular Conn 30M tenor sax. Serial number 276952 from 1936, a"Naked Lady" model. This is the ... moremost beautiful and fancy pro model tenor that Conn ever made, and it has the deep, full tone of a Conn tenor from that era. The sax has silver-plated palm keys, side keys, and left pinky keys. It may have been re-lacquered years ago, because the engraving is not real, real sharp. The lacquer is in excellent shape, though, except for a spot on the bell where it may have rested on a stand. There are virtually no dents on this horn. It has been repadded with plastic resonator pads(to last longer) by the seller, who is an excellent full-time repairman for over 35 years. It has the original neck, does not have a mouthpiece, and comes with a Selmer case, because the original case is gone.

King Zephyr Tenor Saxophone H.N. White Co Cleveland Ohio USA Vintage For auction a used King Zephyr Tenor Sax. Basically good overall condition. With ... morea couple issues. Has been repaired at least a couple times. As visible in the photos. Under the bell is dented, and has been soldered. One other piece is visibly soldered. And a piece on the mouthpiece has been soldered. The pads all seem to be in decent shape. All valves seem working properly. This sax has been sitting for a long time. And I am selling for a friend. I don't play. And just don't know much in general about saxophones. Please see the many pictures for an idea of the overall condition. And expect the sax to need some work. Maybe a restoration? Conn Tenor Saxophone Soft Gig Bag. Light wear on the interior. PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING! Over the past 20 years we at Dillon Music have collected MANY instruments. Accessories and cases, and now are doing a bit of cleaning out of the old. All instruments are for PARTS only, and you should bid on them as such. Instruments are in AS IS condition and are not sold as working. These are great for the person who has instruments to restore or for the repair person looking for extra vintage parts. Some are missing valves/finger buttons/slides, keys, etc… this is a general description, thus if the instrument is a woodwind we would be referring to keys, and if it was a brass instrument we would be referring to slides, etc… Again, instruments DO NOT PLAY! Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. This is a no reserve auction and we will sell to the ... morehighest bidder. We will not end the auction before. So please do not ask. Buyer is to pay shipping. Will combine shipping for multiple items. No returns! WE DO NOT SHIP OUT OF THE UNITED STATES/CANADA WITH EBAY! If you are interested in bidding. And are overseas, please have a US address to ship to. We ship Fed Ex only! Dillon Music is the place for all your brass and woodwind needs. Check us out on the web.
well used Conn"chu berry" tenor saxophone. Conn Reso Pads are older and have some splitting on the edges. will need repadded I'm sure. horn has lots of wear at touch points and has been relacquered at one time or another. there are evidences of resolders and the neck has been bent down and had the posts pushed in at one time. the neck fits the receiver well and the receiver shows no signs of previous damages. the body appears straight with no push-in at the bell brace. apparent original case is a bit rough but the latches are strong and close properly. any other information you need feel free to ask. I ship anywhere that the postal service allows. starting at 99 cents with no reserve.

Here is an excellent 10M with all new pads. Corks, and felts. It plays perfectly- top note to bottom. There are no dents, creases, or repairs. All pivot pin set screws are in place. The neck is perfect- never pulled down or dented. Intonation is excellent and easily lights green all the way up and down the scale on our tuner. The pads are well seated. The horn plays low Bb with hardly any effort. It has a big, deep voice. The"Naked Lady" these were all hand engraved at the factory- we think is particularly winsome. This is a really, really good 10M. Now, the negatives, which are hard to find. The lacquer is not original, although it looks like it is(see pics) It certainly wasn't over-buffed, if at all. The lacquer is 98% or better. There is very slight lacquer wear at the neck strap attachment ring and on the neck. The nickel ... moreplating is 99% with only a few small marks on the octave key. The serial number, 331XXX indicates a late 1948 date of manufacture, about one year after CONN stopped making rolled tone holes. There is one pencil point ding near the thumb rest- too small to notice. There isn't much to criticize. The horn is beautiful and the tiny blemishes it does have can't be seen from more than a few feet away. It doesn't need anything and is gig ready out of the case. If you've ever wanted a 10M you'd love this one. They don't come much better. It will be shipped in a secure case that isn't pretty but will serve. The horn will be packed like fine china, with an end plug for safety. U.S. buyer to pay $38.00 for shipping. International buyers are welcome and will pay actual cost of shipping 27 pounds by USPS Air Priority. Paypal only.
This is a Conn 94M tenor saxophone made in West Germany by Keilwerth for Conn(also known as a"DJH Modified" with straight tone holes. The serial number is a Keilwerth number 86XXX and has matching number on the neck and dates this horn to around 1983. The engraving on the bell is the typical"Naked Lady" pattern. But does not have the actual naked lady or the words"DJH Modified" on it. The lacquer is original and is in excellent condition with the exception of a few very minor scratches, one small ding near the bottom, some wear on the left pinky keys and another small 1/4" spot on the body where finish has chipped or worn. I got this in hopes of resurrecting my sax playing hobby but have rarely touched this in the two years I've owned it. Unfortunately it has been in storage most of the time and definitely ... moreneeds to find a good home because this sax looks great and sounds even better! Hopefully you can tell in the photos that the pads are in almost new condition. This comes with a Conn hardshell case. A DJH 5* mouthpiece, ligature and cap, and a neckstrap(all pictured) The mouthpiece looks to be decent quality but for some reason has discolored from black to brownish color. I tried to clean it gently with soap and water but it didn't change. I have another mouthpiece and didn't really try this one out. CONN CHU-BERRY SILVER PLATED Bb TENOR SAXOPHONE W/ BRAND NEW PADS SERIAL# 228202 CIRCA 1928 W/ ROLLED TONE HOLES ORIGINAL SILVER PLATE(90% BRAND NEW PADS(W/ METAL RESONATORS) THIS SAXOPHONE HAS BEEN REFURBISHED CONN'S ORIGINAL ROLLED TONE HOLES. I've Played/ Testing this Great Vintage Chu-Berry Tenor. And I always enjoy the Monsterous Sound they produce. This Tenor Body was an excellent candidate for refurbishing. For there were minimal dings on the Body, and my Techman only had to resolder a couple of Key Guard Posts, and the thin Key Guard that protects the trill Key on the back of the Sax. There's wear to the Gold Wash on the inside of the Bell(see photos) And there's some minimal plating wear just around the right thumb rest, and also the left hand palm keys. The roller Keys were completely Frozen on this Tenor. And could ... morenot be salvaged, so, I had my Techman remove the Catalin Rollers from a 40's Buescher, and he had to make only one out of Catalin(the Red one seen in the photo) The case is a 1960's case. And it is in Good condition, I believe the case is a Buescher Case. Any Questions let me know. And thanks for taking a look.
I'M SELLING THIS FOR MY GOOD FRIEND COMPOSER& SAXOPHONIST JIM D'PASQUALE. HE HAS OWNED THIS FOR MOST OF HIS LIFE AND IT IS IN EXCELLENT PLAYING SHAPE. PADS GOOD AND IT DID HAVE A FEW ALTERATIONS. THE TENOR COMES INA GOOD CLEAN CASE. the satin finish horn I bought from my teacher. Joe Daley, in Chicago, May, 1959. He had three old Conn's and this was the horn he played the least. The serial number is#93804, dated 1922. According to research, it's a New Wonder, Series 1 model. Joe had the horn worked on by George Streucil, the best repairman in Chicago- how much work, I'm not sure. George later worked in LA- Larry Comeau knew him and said the guy was brilliant) On the basis of the condition of the horn when I bought it, I believe it was refinished by George. Later, I had the thumb rest, G# and left hand palm keys altered ... moreby George to fit my 18-year-old hands.

This auction is for what I think is a C Melody Saxophone by'Lewin Bros' London. This is a pre war item and plays pretty well, mid range sounds quite amazing and overall range pretty nice sound. I've looked and looked through the internet and from what I can see this was made by'CONN' but I cant guarantee it is a CONN, the company'Lewin Bros' of London were a instrument importers hence their name on the bell and from all the information I have found online says that the Lewin Company mainly imported CONNS and MARTINS. The name and serial number says:NEW PERFECTION' A50231'model' SD. The Saxophone is in good condition for its age but has the obvious wear marks which must be expected with an instrument of this age. It plays OK but could do with setting up as its been sitting around for years. It comes ... morewith a mouth piece/ neck strap and a SELMER carry case which is a bit dog eared and showing its age but does its job, the catches are all good. Anyone with info on this Saxophone your more than welcome to let me know. Happy Bidding. I've set the worldwide shipping cost at £50.00 I don’t mind shipping worldwide but I'm not sure of the shipping cost but I will only charge what it cost me. 7.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bkw5%7Fos1%3E%3E7-13d03b40751-0xfd-

Up for the taking today is a very clean and pristine Conn 16M Director Tenor sax. From the mid'70's(serial N106,XXX) Recently overhauled. First. Please review our payment instructions as they are specific and must be adhered to. Please do not bid until you have reviewed the instructions and are willing to abide, as Dude would say. Yes. We ship internationally. YES, we have a return policy, stated in the instructions. This here sax.is a 16M Director series. Exact same body and neck as the famed 10M Artist series. Therefore, they do sound just like a 10M. The keywork design and finishing touches are just a bit simpler. Yes, she is an MX-made horn, however after completely disassembling and refurbing, we can say with confidence that we did not find some of the inconsistencies or issues reported with the MX models. The keywork is stout ... moreand sturdy, not soft; and there is not significant play in any of the keys(we did swedge a few keys as required) This is the exact same design spec as the 16M's produced in USA in the'60's. She has rec'd the typical 2ndending.com treatment: chem bathed. Hand polished, repadded, new corks and felts, dents removed, keys swedged as required, and regulated into good playing shape. Body tube is plumb, bow is straight and clean, toneholes are level, keywork and rollers are free and snappy. Intonation is good, ergos are comfy. 85%+ original lacquer.this horn is in incredibly pristine shape for a 40-year old sax. Looks very pretty. Just some minor spotting here and there and some typical scratches here and there as well. No nasties, no uglies. Massive tone.big. Dark, wide as a house.all Vintage American Tenor sound. Of course it would be, she is an old Conn. Modern horns just cannot compete with the sonic quality of these old players. That's why folks love Vintage horns. Comes with unoriginal case in fair condition. On Feb-21-13 at 18:37:38 PST. Seller added the following information: click on shipping/payments tab to review payment info. Thanks.
SAXOPHONE COLLECTORS ATTENTION: For Sale: A spectacular Conn 30M tenor sax. Serial number 276952 from 1936, a"Naked Lady" model. This is the most beautiful and fancy pro model tenor that Conn ever made, and it has the deep, full tone of a Conn tenor from that era.

Up for auction is a heavily Silver-Plated 1916 Conn Wonder"USQMC" Tenor Saxophone. Made in Elkhart, Ind. This is a stunning looking and great playing horn due to the following: The sax was completely overhauled/rebuilt- All removable parts were disassembled; these parts. The neck and body was washed and painstakingly hand polished until we have an almost 100 year old horn that shines and gleams like a new silver sax; the body is virtually dent and ding free- the only imperfection being a couple of inconsequential dings on the neck; ALL PADS WERE REPLACED with high quality new leather pads, which were adjusted to seal perfectly over all tone holes- no leaks; the adjustment resulted in consistent tight action and intonation- tuned to A440hz(tuning standard) all springs were examined, tested for consistency and changed where needed; ... morethe cork and felt work was updated; all parts were oiled, and the sax was play tested many times. The sax comes with a newer case in great condition- latches functional, handle present, etc. This is a big. Big tenor, with a huge bell and bell lip opening. I has as big, round and rich a sound as any sax ever made! A great deal of work was put into this classic Conn to make it look and play like it does. Why take the chance on buying a vintage horn that likely requires all of the above work. Often costing as much or more than what you purchased it at? Finally, this is a NR auction. Good luck bidders! Note: No returns for non-continental USA and international buyers. On Feb-23-13 at 13:23:01 PST. Seller added the following information: Note: The inside of the bell looks like it may be faded gold wash. Which you may see from the photos. But, I am by no means certain of this and, therefore, will not represent with certainty that it was originally made with a gold wash bell, which has faded over time. If you put a gun to my head, I would say it probably was, but I can't rule out the possibility that it may be the brass under slightly worn plating showing through. On Feb-27-13 at

Conn 16m- Freshly Overhauled- H50.897 Here's one of the greatest bargains in all of vintage saxophones. The 16M is actually a 10M with slightly simplified keywork and simple but identifying engraving. Called the"Shooting Star" series. These Elkhart made horns are both true Conns and true vintage horns. Get all the sound and pride of ownership in this rare silver plated edition in very good condition. The pads have lots of life left and the horn plays well top to bottom. Unfortunately some lout attempted to scratch his initials into the bell but did not succeed in damaging the overall apperance of the instrument in that his vandalism, seen in pictures below, hardly shows up at all. There are no dents or neck pulldowns and no re-solders that I can find. In all this is a very clean 16M Shooting Star Elkhart. Indiana, built horn ... morewith professional quality throughout. This horn has been freshly overhauled and re-paded by Borodi Music of Cleveland. George Borodi performs a lot of our finer work and is a wizard at making the old instruments play better than they ever have. The buyer of this horn is lucky because this 16M is not just some old school horn barely hanging on but rather a classic Conn that has had benefit of the hand of a master. Conn"Chu Berry" 178.205, Most tenor saxophone players admire a horn with the"vintage" look. The look of a horn that has paid its dues maybe many times over. However, all good things can be taken to an extreme. For example, consider the horn below. A rough looking but very good playing horn that your mother would never let you rent, much less buy. Well. Looks, we all know, are only skin deep and they certainly don't make the horn. If they did, half the pros in New York would be tooting on Yamahas instead of their beat up Selmers and Conns. No, it's the playing, the sound and feel of a good horn that makes the instrument and this old warhorse from 1926 has been making the scene since before Lester Young got his first band job. In fact, in 1938 Billie Holiday, Lady Day" forced Pres to abandon his ratty old Pan ... moreAmerican for a sharp, gold plated, New Wonder which he played throughout the rest of the'30s and all of the 1940s. In our collection we have an identical instrument to that pivotal horn. While this horn isn't gold plated. Or even pretty, it still plays with the voice that captured Pres' imagination and the hearts of a nation of swing and jazz fans. There's something special about these Conn New Wonder tenors. New Wonder" was Conn's working name for these horns but the public nick-named it"Chu Berry" after the great saxophonist of that name with the 1930s Fletcher Henderson Orchestra and like most monikers, it stuck. All our horns now ship in a ProTec style. Zipper closure, hard sided case unless otherwise instructed. We recommend this case very highly and we prefer to ship in them because we are confident there will be no damage. However. An excellent 1952 CONN 10M is offered. The horn has original lacquer. New pads, and plays perfectly. No leaks. Low Bb comes out with little effort. It has the big, warm tone earlier 10Ms were known for. Excellent intonation- lights green top note to bottom on our chromatic tuner. Neck never pulled down. It has been adjusted, lubricated, and pivot pin set screws replaced in our shop(all pivot pin set screws are present) It is a truly excellent player. Now the blemishes, and there aren't many. It has lacquer wear as seen in the large pictures below, in the front of the bell, by the thumb rest, and neck strap ring. There are two tiny pencil-point dings on the neck that do not affect play. One post has been professionally re-attached, but you have to look carefully to find it. That's about all. It is a dandy- one of the best players to ... morecome through our shop. The serial number, 354128, indicates that it was made in November or(more likely) December of 1952. The vintage case is strong and secure, although the leather strips have come off the outside edges. We'll start it at $500 with a buy-it-now that will(unfortunately) disappear after the first bid. Check our feedback. We specialize in vintage tenors, and this one is about as good as they come. Thank you for viewing this Conn 10M tenor saxophone in absolutely beautiful condition for its vintage along with the fact this instrument has been COMPLETELY OVERHAULED TOP TO BOTTOM! It does have some light scratches and such nothing bad at all. View the pic of the neck where the lacquer is rubbed off if you run your thumb over that area you can feel a very gentle indentation.not a dent but a very light indentation.has no effect on play-ability or tone! This horn screams top to bottom with little to no resistance has a huge bottom yes its a cannon.Middle and top end are sweet and not bright horn is amazing in my opinion. Conn 10M's are just in my subjective humble opinion the best horns out there. Non smoking home.No odd smells We ship all over the world!

The three left hand side keys were built up with epoxy in order to improve the position of these keys for the average left hand palm and first finger. For bid is a 1968 Conn"Director"shooting star) tenor saxophone. Serial# L48057. This horn played like a dream straight out of the case when I bought it. No tweaks needed. Great intonation top to bottom. If you know horns you know that the 16M shares the same bore with the acclaimed 10M. I've never played a 10M. But this 16M roars like Rollins with an Ottolink and whispers like Getz with a Berg Larson. Great horn, low reserve. Comes with case shown. On Mar-06-13 at 14:58:18 PST. If there is any reason you would NOT give me positive feedback or all 5 stars contact me first. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS WELCOME ON CASE BY CASE SITUATION EMAIL ME FIRST I will charge an extra 10 dollars on top of the actual shipping charge for the extra running around and paper work etc. I was doing some research on Conn Silver Nice condition C melody's. I saw that one went for a grand and one for 1500.00 This two tone gold plated one I am selling is much rarer and will appreciate in value over time more in m y opinion! Easier to polish than silver also! OK what I have here is an almost MINT Gold Plated Gorgeous 1924 Conn C melody tenor sax with the highly ... moresought after straight tunable neck. Rolled tone Holes. HAS FRONT F( see pic 2 and 10) I have come across a lot of C Melody's.this is the perty'est ONE EVER. For the pics I polished her up for maybe 5 minutes with a polish rag. That is it. if I was to guess I would say this was a one time owner but I can't verify that. I played it with my C melody Conn MPC and it plays on these pads not great. The low end is hard to get sound on. So I would say get it a new set of pads! Mechanically it checks out. My tech looked it over and I had him do 3 things. 1 new neck cork 2 Take out a dent in the bottom bow. With his 46 years of experience he did a fantastic job. I think he went in from the tone hole and down the body/bell etc to make it almost look perfect. see pics 8 10 11 12) 3 The neck screw needed to be a bit tighter. My tech commented that the rods on the pants side of sax don't even show any wear. see pic 11) this is real nit picky but I noticed in my pic 7 one of the rods is bent ever so slightly. It does not affect the action at all. I suppose when repadding it a tech could tweek it a tiny bit. Most people would not even point this out but I believe in pointin

Here's a real solid horn and quite an interesting one at that. Before proceeding. Please review our payment instructions under the payments/shipping tab above. Yes. We ship internationally, and yes we have a return policy, stated there. This is a Conn 16M model. Made in the USA by UMI. This is NOT a Mexico-made 16M. The first of these we have ever come across. We see plenty of 16M Mexico horns stenciled by Conn for Armstrong in the'70's. Then Conn. Armstrong and King were bought by Danny Henkin who returned all production to the USA and then later sold to UMI, which produced horns here domestically from'85-03 under the Conn, King, Armstrong, and Artley names. Now. The interesting thing about this horn is.it was always assumed that when production returned to US soil, the 16M model vanished, replaced by the Conn 22M and its ... morestencils. Most Armstrong horns of the UMI period are JK-inspired designs, such as the 3040 model; completely different beasts than a 16M. But this clearly has a late 80's UMI serial number. And not only does it LOOK like a 16M, we took calipers to the horn, and indeed it is a 16M design. Manufactured in the USA. Who would have thought that this spec survived so late in the game? BTW, the 16M bodies were always identical to the 10M bodies, thus the horns sound identical. All of this may be more info than you wanna know, but we at 2ndending.com love delving into the history of the old makers.we learn something new quite often. Like the fact that 16M's were made in America in the late 80's! UMI made a good run of horns in their time. They competed quite successfully, toe to to with the Japanese for two decades. W ell-built and sturdy. Many of their models still retained that big, wide, dark tone of the classic horns of the'30's-70's. This one sure does, since it's an identical spec to a 50's or'60's 16M. Nice and spread with tons of darkness and some nice punch, she is all Conn in tone. Horn is in great shape. Pads are all sealing. We replace

Up for auction is a classic 1956 Conn 10M"Lady Face/ Naked Lady" tenor saxophone. Made in Elkhart, Ind. It's a very solid horn in great condition. The majority of the lacquer remains intact. The bell engraving is clear and crisp. The tarnish gives it a nice vintage look. The inner bow is dimpled with small dents/dings. There is less than a handful of dings throughout the remainder of the body- nothing I would call a dent. The double socket neck of these later"Lady Face" 10Ms is really cool and in great shape. I find it to be quite striking with its uniqueness- beautiful brace and fascinating neck flat spring setup, only seen in these models. The sax plays beautifully. The pads are in great shape and seal perfectly. The action is quick and light. The intonation is spot on. The cork and felt work is in fine condition. ... moreI cannot discern any difference between it's sound and playability from the 10Ms made in the late'30s through the'40s. Which are reputed to be when the best of the 10Ms were made. I have oiled the horn to further smoothen the action/feel. It comes with a newer black rectangular very solid case, which is in excellent shape. This is a NR auction. Good luck bidders! Note: No returns for non-continental USA and international buyers.

This New Wonder tenor imme diately preceeds the Ch u Berry and the only notable diffe rence we've found is the smooth G# lever touch on this horn(compared to the"na il file" G# lever touch on the Chu Berry's) The horn has that big lu sh Conn sound and the low notes pr ac tically jump out. Very free blowing and resonan t throughout the horn. And has that vintage American sound everyone is looking for. It has rolled tone holes and the alternate G# trill lever. NEW BUY IT NOW PRICE* SOLID HORN* Descpription: For your consideration is a 1936 Conn 30M Connqueror Tenor saxophone. Serial number M274xxx. It has the Conn Connqueror and Lady Face/Naked Lady engraving. A lot of players consider this the best vintage tenor. It is rare and they are getting harder to find. This model was the crown jewel of Conn tenors at the time and still is. Played by many Jazz greats. I was going to hold onto this one for awhile, but letting it go to a good home where it can be lovingly played and enjoyed. It has the sterling silver palm and side key touch plates. And pearl rollers. Micro tuners and rolled tone holes. I believe this is the original lacquer, however experts can confirm. It has a beautiful honey golden brown patina. The horn plays easily up and down the range, and has a great classic dark and powerful Conn ... moretone. Condition: You can definitely tell this horn has been played throughout the years and seen alot of gigs. The horn is in ok shape playability wise and mechanically as is. The body is solid with no bends and the bell and neck are straight. It does have some small pin and pea size dents on the body. But no large dents. Please see the pictures for areas where there are imperfections. I did not see any soldering. Some of the small screws and micro adjusters have rust and may need to be unfrozen. The horn needs a cleaning as there is dirt and dust around the key areas. The pearls are in ok shape, you can see wear on the keys from being played throughout the years. This horn must have been played quite a bit as you can see the round metal neck strap eyelet has been worn down by the neck strap hook from use. I looked at the engraving under a loupe and took some close up pictures. And the laquer appears to be original to me. I'd say the laquer is on about 50-60% of the horn and splotchy. The laquer has some cracking and is worn off in some areas. The engraving is legible, but there is lacquer wear and there is a very small dent around the Naked Lady area. The pads look to b

Up for sale is a 1966 Conn 10M tenor sax. With an underslung neck. The pads are about 8 months old, and they all work without leaks. The keys are light and easy to play, and the sound is full, and clear. There is a dent in the bell, by the logo, and some of the finish is gone in some parts, but overall it is in good condition. It could use a new neck cork, but it's functional as-is. The case is a little torn on the outside, but it works well.
Conn 16 M Tenor Saxophone made in 1957-58. Fantastic deal on an early 16M. If you are reading this then you know what these early 16M's are about. 100% screaming Conn tone. Quick action and a great player. The only negative regarding this instrument is the neck does have some pull down. Some feel pull down effects tuning but I have no tuning problems with it. There are some shallow dents on the lower bow. If you haven't experienced the Conn 16M or 10M sound and have always wanted to than this is your horn for little cost. Pads are in excellent shape and has been gone through by my tech with complete set-up and regulation. No disappointments. As you can see the outer tolex on the case has been torn but other than appearance the case is solid. The Selmer C* mouthpiece is in excellent shape with almost no wear and no chipping. This really ... moreis a fantastic deal for a Conn and if you don't believe me look around and you will see. I am a buyer as well as a seller so I always shoot straight regarding the instruments that I sell. MY SMALL PRINT The sax stand(as photographed) does not come with the purchase. Shipping: I always refund the difference of shipping if it turns out to be lower than stated. I pay for packing as well as insurance. I ship between 1 and 3 business days after cleared payment. I am only shipping to the U.S.A. at this time. If you have any questions please ask. At this price it will not last long. Thank you for checking it out.
Conn 10M(Naked Lady) Tenor Saxophone Late model Conn 10M Tenor. Serial#873769, made in 1960. The"Naked Lady" or"Lady Face" refers to the engraving on the bell. These are wonderful saxophones, with an enormous bottom end. A top-of-the-line horn in its day, they are still sought after by players looking for the unique sound they offer. The original lacquer is about 90% intact. With a few wear spots up near the neck receiver and some very light scratching. Very minor dents, tiny pings really, on the bow, body and neck. Maybe half a dozen spots at most. Nickel plating on the keys is fine, except for a wear spot on the octave lever touch point. Some gray“hazing” on the nickel, it can be buffed off if you like. Pads are a mix of newer and older. Double-socket neck fits well. Horns plays right down to low Bb as is, but you may ... morewant to have your horn tech go over it and replace a few pads, reseat others. Set it up the way you want it. Tone quality is classic 10M: big, fat, warm and round. It's the reason we still want to play these vintage horns! A unique, professional saxophone at an affordable price. There is one very minor nick on the inside of the right rail near the back of the window. But otherwi se the tip and side rails are completely smooth. There are no tooth indentations in the beak. Conn 10m'Naked Lady' Tenor Saxophone This is based in London. So no expensive shipping duty or VAT in the EU! This auction is for my prized 1936 Conn 10m'Naked Lady' a.k.a. Lady Face) tenor saxophone. Serial 274082. Yes. This has the mythical rolled tone holes, and yes, they do make a difference to the sound! The horn was relacquered at some point in its life. And it has a few marks here and there commensurate with its age, but it's in good condition, having been regularly maintained by both Howarth's and Sax.co.uk during my ownership. There are a few small indentations/marks on the crook/neck, but nothing that impacts on playability- see photos for details. Please note that the pearls are non-original plastic replacements, similar to those used on a modern instrument. It has the classic 10m sound- deep. Lush subtones, ... morea very warm, rich sound indeed. Case(presumably non-original. Based on my other Conn saxophones) is included, though it has had better days. Reason for sale? I only play alto these days. But as a Conn enthusiast, predictably I own two 6m altos! Viewing by arrangement welcome. I'm based in London, SE9 5DR. The winning bidder is welcome to collect from either the aforementioned postcode or central London. However, if you collect in person, I will need to request a cash payment please.
