Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here is a vintage VITO VSP saxophone. These horns were made for VITO by Yanagisawa. And are basically the ... moresame horn minus the stamp. The original lacquer finish is around 85% and is in pretty good cosmetic condition. As you can see, there are a lot of scratches and a few dings. This horn needs a full overhaul. It also has the double key arm for low"C" which was a feature of the 880 series horns, but it is officially stamped as a T800. Don't let a real pro horn pass you by. This is a LOT of horn for the money! MAKE AN OFFER! Ask about our overhaul rates as well. We can probably save you some money! Here at Professional_Woodwinds. We pride ourselves on offering our customers a fair price for a great product. We started several years ago with the goal of being able to provide excellent products and services at a price that everyday people can afford. For that reason we do all of our overhauls and tech work“in-house” And we can pass the savings on to the customer. This concept is our motto. I am a string player and know very little about saxophones. This sax has been in our family for years but never used. It looks in playable condition with ... morethe exception of a couple pads that need re-attachment. As well there is good spring tension on all buttons. Some of the buttons appear to be mother of pearl. The neck does not look original so I am not sure of what origin it is. The mouthpiece is Selmer from Paris. There are extra pads and reeds in the original old case. The sax will require some restoration if you want a mint instrument. The case as well will need some work and smells from the storage. These instruments are very rare. Especially in tenor form and have a very mysterious history. From some searches online this is what I found out about the sax: The Olds Super Sax history. From a former executive at F.E. Olds& Son. The Kanstul family runs Kanstul Music. A producer of Brasswinds previously associated with Benge. Zig Kanstul keeps business hours, but other Kanstul's appear throughout the web site for the company. He started his career working for FE Olds in the early 50's as a technician reaching the top of the company and overseeing it's success and decline. Kanstul Music has an amazing history of its own. An alternate explanation of the Olds Super saxes. According to Mr Kanstul the Olds Super sax was made in very numbers run just before the start of WWII in the Los Angeles F.E Olds Plan. The company hired a former Martin Sax employee who had moved to the LA area(I failed to note his name during our discussion) As a result of this hire Olds developed the Olds Super sax models intended for the professional market. This was part of the companies evolving product line. The instruments were produced in small numbers untill WWII interrupted civilian production. Mr Kanstul thought less than 2000 were produced. Something beyond a prototype run, and enough to build interest in the new line. Full production wasn't ever achieved, the tooling was put in storage. The serial numbers reflect

Martin Imperial Alto Sax. Made in Elkhart, Indiana. OI have been informed it was made in the 50's. It is in good condition with the usual worn spots ... moreyou would expect, but it plays wonderfully and has a great tone. It has silver keys with pearl buttons. Far better looking than the boring monotone instruments produced today! Best of all it was made in America, a rarity these days. The sax comes with the original case and neck. A pack of unused reeds, cork grease, cleaning rags, neck strap, and music book holder. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them.

OTTOLINK 6 mouthpiece in excellent condition, a pad saver and some cork grease. There is some wear as shown in the pictures where you would expect to see it around the thumb rest, palm keys, etc. The low Eb cage is missing. I didn't find this to be a problem at all in playing this on some gigs since the amount of lift in the key isn't controlled by the missing piece. A piece of musical history for sure. I have attempted to describe this as accurately as possible, but please email any questions you have about it. Due to it's ... moreage however it is sold strictly as-is. Buyer takes care of any additional adjusting that may be needed. I will NOT send this outside the continental U.S. DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT IN U.S. Payment expected in 7 working days or item will be re-listed.

MARTIN HANDCRAFT ALTO SAXOPHONE. 67228 This is a very nice vintage Martin Handcraft alto saxophone. Its serial number of 67228 dates its manufacture to 1925. The Golden Age of Jazz. The horn is in very good condition, considering its age. The lacquer is about 85% intact, with some slight scratching and wear spots, mostly on the touch-points. A handful of minor dings throughout the bow, body and neck, but nothing to interfere with performance. No evidence of soldering or major dent-work. Like all Martin saxophones of this era, this horn has heavy, soldered tone-holes(each tone-hole is individually soldered to the body, much like a hand-made flute) As a result, all tone-holes are perfectly level. There is no evidence of soldering gaps or leaks on any of the tone-holes. Pads are in pretty good condition, a mix of new and older pads. The sax ... moreplays well as is, but looks as if it has not been serviced in some time, so you will want to have your horn tech go over it, tweak a few pads, replace a few corks, etc. It has a nice, warm, classic vintage sound. Comes in a hard-shell replacement case. Serious offers only. Please. Remember, your offer is a binding contract. We reserve the right to reject bidders with insufficient feedback. The"Indiana" serial number is 78602. Purchased from Sax Alley in Colorado in July 31, 2004. It is considered Martin's student/intermediate model because of features not usually found on a student model. The lacquer is original. This model features engraving of a Native American Chief. The entire saxophone is in very good condition. It comes with its original Martin case which is also in very good condition, rare for the age of this horn. It has been serviced at Seacat Music in Manheim, PA. The instrument comes with two neck straps, stand, box of reeds, manufacturer's notes, and service records. The saxophone is being played regularly and everything functions well. It has a beautiful, full sound, especially in the lower register.

Serial number 206.Xxx dates this horn to 1959, right in the middle of the small Magna production line. This horn plays really easily and with a sweet tone. The overhaul has left it ready for years of musical service. This saxophone will certainly turn heads. The previous and original owner of the horn had the left side pinky cluster modified(slightly bent) in order to improve the action. In my opinion it does feel alright so I didn't change it. She is clean and leak free. If you wanted to have your favorite tech adjust the pinky table that wouldn't be hard. Original 65% lacquer Adjustable thumb rest Matching serial numbers on neck and body Matching star-burst/ crucifix on the neck and body Silver plated keys and rods Overhauled. Cleaned, polished, new pads, corks and felts, action regulated Black kangaroo pads and copper resonators ... moreNeck is in great shape Normal wear throughout the horn. A few small dents Original pearl rollers in great shape. One little chip on G# roller Bell-body brace has never seen an impact Original case has black duct tape on parts of it

It also has the sterling silver neck, which is only found on some Magna horns. All keys and rollers work perfectly, and there are only a few minor dings as pictured. It also comes with a"Masterlay" mouthpiece by Conavay-McCoy of Springfield, Illinois, also in excellent shape. The mouthpiece is stamped"M3" on the table, and the tip opening measures.060 on my Theo Wanne tip gauge. The original case in also in excellent condition. This is a vintage 1932"Martin Master Handcraft" baritone sax(Low Pitch. 105163) This professional model features rare Art Deco styled"Typewriter" Mother Of Pearl pinky& palm keys. The bell features wonderful floral design engraving, with Martin Mandcraft logo(as sharp as the day it was hand-cut) The design is a work of art, and Martin bari's of this period have earned the reputation of being some of the finest sounding horns ever made. It includes it's original Martin case, with removable velvet cloth(orig. owner's name on hang-tag) No neck or mouthpiece. Condition: All original lacquer, with only a few small signs of handling/ normal use(see images) All the keys move freely, and the pads are present, although it has not been played in many decades(since the 50's we believe) and it will likely need ... morean overhaul prior to use. Typically bari's of this age appear to have been"thru the War" so is't a pleasure to see a pro horn of this quality and rarity, and in this beautiful condition. It will need a neck, but if you're looking at this listing it's likely that you already know how to get it in playing order(maybe even already have a Handcraft neck) The case shows wear to the outer black covering, but the inside still displays nicely and it's protected the sax extreemly well for the past 80 years. This is an amazing Martin Master"Typewriter" bari, and likely the finest that we'll ever see. It's beautiful. As with all vintage instruments we offer, it is being sold as-found/ as-is for restoration or display. Vintage 1933 Martin USA HANDCRAFT Imperial Alto Sax Saxophone(Internet reference charts place serial number as about 1933) Beveled Tone Holes! NO CASE- will either double box for safety or ship in a C-Melody case for $10(slightly oversize- doesn't really fit but will provide a little more protection) Pretty clean for age but would benefit from what almost all old saxes do- pads& reconditioning. I play a little tenor( not real great. I admit) and hit all of the notes on this horn. While you could use this horn as it is, the REAL potential won't happen without re-padding and adjustments. Missing the bracket for the sheet music holder(does anyone ever use these? Possibly will have to re-do some springs also. Cosmetics are good. No real dent issues, etc. Buyer pays shipping. TERMS OF SALE Sold'as-is' Needs have been described. ... moreHorn IS playable but won't show its full potential without some reconditioning. Please examine pictures for detail and determine if this is a project that you would like to undertake or pay a professional to do. If there is any chance that you would NOT be happy with doing your own restoration. Repairs, set-up or paying for the services of someone to do this, it would probably be best to pass on this listing. I'd rather avoid any unpleasantness because of unmet expectations.

West Virginia. Service included all new pads. No mouthpiece included with this sale. Free Shipping by UPS. Serial Number 48872. Offered for auction is this vintage Martin Saxophone in the key of C. It is serial number 40994, which from my on-line research dates it to 1924. What's great about this sax is that is can easily be played with other instruments since it is in the key of C. The horn is beautifully engraved as shown in the photographs. It has a gold washed bell and mother of pearl keys. It has not been played in many years. It was a gift to me about 20 years ago and I started to learn to play and but never really got it down. I have held onto it for sentimental reasons and thinking that at some point I would pick it back up again, but I think it's time to let it go. As it has not been played for a long time, some of the pads may need to be replaced. Everything works and it is in overall very good condition, it just needs a new owner that can play it. ... moreincluded is the original hard case with purple velvet interior. The velvet is worn but appropriate for the age of the instrument. There is a second mouthpiece included, a newer neck strap, and it also has the music stand. I do not have the key for the case, as it was not provided when I was given the sax. This sax is being sold as is. Please look at all of the photographs as they are an important part of the description. Please ask any questions prior to bidding as all sales are final. A very beautiful instrument and a very clean vintage piece that I hope finds a new owner who can appreciate it. I will only ship this sax within the continental United States. No exceptions. Shipping will be quite a bit as this is heavy with the case and everything. Insurance is included in the shipping cost which is USPS Parcel Post. I accept Paypal and personal checks, however, personal checks must clear before the item is shipped. Payment is expected within three days of auction close.

Up for auction is a Melody Master/ Martin Stencil Alto Saxophone This is a great old alto sax with a superb tone. It has that"Martin" sound. The plating is worn as a horn of it's age should be but it still plays well. That said it. Like any other sax, could probably benefit from a trip to the tech for some regulation but all horns usually do anyway. Even most new horns would too! This horn was actually kept at our recording studio and used by a few local horn players on quite a few tracks. It was funny the night a horn player drove 4 hours to record and his precious MK IV alto leaked like a pasta strainer. He cut 16 tracks with this old war horse and the producer loved them all! This would make someone a good horn for club gigs or venues where one is hesitant to bring in their collector's pieces. The case is well worn with ... morerips in the vinyl but still plenty strong enough to make the trip. Buyer to pay actual shipping costs. Thanks For Looking!

Martin Imperial Alto Sax. Made in Elkhart, Indiana. OI have been informed it was made in the 50's. It is in good condition with the usual worn spots you would expect, but it plays wonderfully and has a great tone.
Well here's a neat old soprano saxophone in the key of C that appears to have been made by Martin by looking at the beveled toneholes. The instrument is engraved"Wurlitzer American" and is nickel plated. An uncommon but available finish from this period. The plating is in great shape. And I don't see and dents or dings anywhere. The pads look practically brand new. I don't know the history of the horn so I don't know who did it or how long ago or whatever. It does seem there's some adjustments that need to be made because the horn plays well except for a few notes. So, assume you'll want to have your tech(or you) get the horn leak free once you get it. The case is non original but fits the instrument well and is protective. No mouthpiece. International bidders are welcome but I only figure actual shipping ... morequotes when the auction is done.
Upon this auction is a very rare beautiful Martin Handcraft tenor saxophone. SN#109888 matching on neck and body, date 1934. It plays from top to bottom effortless. All pads and blue springs are still in good condition. Near new plain rivet pads are for a soft& mellow vintage Martin tenor sound. The horn looks shiny with some tiny pity spots. The finish doesn't look like original lacquer. It looks and plays like a new saxophone. The horn has nice rich dark and meaty sound. There is a small dings on bell. And a small dent by cloth key guard. It is very clean, hygiene, and much better than rusty horns. There is no major notice. It comes with non-original hard case. It should be in your collections. It is still cheaper than student model saxophones. This one is a rare to find in this condition. It is a killer and collector horn. You ... moreare buying a piece of history, not just a saxophone. NOTE: Please. Contact me for an estimated shipping costs for international bidders before bidding. Happy bidding!

Martin low pitch sax from 1923. Vintage and cool. Could be refurbished or steam punk comes with a selmer mouth piece also. Serial number is 40338. Awesome piece of history. Item is missing neck.
Beautiful satin silver Martin Handcraft alto sax from 1927(serial number 85xxx) in excellent condition! No significant dents. Very little cosmetic wear! See photos) Plays well to low B flat. But could use a basic adjustment. One or two clicks and clacks that could be easily taken care of, but certainly not in desperate need of a complete overhaul! The Satin Silver plating is perfect or near perfect. I have polished the bell engraving and neck for the photos. However the silver is darkened with tarnish beneath the mechanism. Will polish to a bright satin silver, or can be left develop that vintage look! Inside the bell is gold plated! All pearls are original and intact. All keys are original. This saxophone has a rich and colorful sound with amazing range. Great projection. And amazing flexibility of tone color! The sax served me well for ... moreseveral years as a secondary instrument- a shame not to play it every day, so I hope that you will! This horn is hefty! Sturdily build even compared to other horns of its day. Comes equipped with a black ProTec Contoured case and BRILHART Ebolin mouthpiece. For a warm vintage sound!
Martin Handcraft Alto Saxophone. 74422(1926-1927) Old Relacquer. possibly originally silver plate) Honey brown color. With good, fairly clear, engraving. Low Pitch. Early Martin Handcraft. With some fairly elaborate engraving it says“MARTIN Handcraft ELKHART. IND. on the bell. The sax is being sold as is. It will need to be either partially or fully repadded to make it play. But it has value to the collector as somewhat collectible as well as the player as a popular vintage sax and potentially a really good playing sax once it is restored. To quote SaxGourmet value guide. Martin's in general are"seriously undervalued" It sort of plays all the way down to the low Bb. The pads(with no resonators) are old looking. The pads are basically an old faded light brown color. Most with no tears or discoloration. Some look better than others, ... moresome look salvageable at that. The sax was definitely repadded at least once or twice even, in its lifetime. The keys all move freely and no rods are frozen. No dents or dings on body; no evidence of serious repair. We did take a small ding out of the bow, but that was it for dent repair. The bow plate looks good. The original neck in good condition with no pull down. Neck needs recorking. We did no pad work. No resoldered parts that we saw on either body or neck. Comes in soft shoulder case in good shape with no mouthpiece. We will ship very safely and securely. Wrapping horn and case in bubble wrap. This sax would be great for the collector or as a project for someone and is very. Very reasonably priced. NO RESERVE. LET HER RIP! At Dave Wilson's Musical Instruments. I discovered two tiny. Difficult to see dents, but no missing silver. What a beautiful engraving& what a beautiful saxophone. Included is a new Babbitt Mouthpiece. Ligature and cap. I have hand polished some of the tarnished areas under keys etc. It plays very well from low Bb to high F. It has a forked Eb which has been disabled by reversing the spring. Many players disliked the forked Eb which is not found on modern saxophones. It also has a G# trill with and alternate for the right hand. The case is in good condition and useable. The case is a little wider than a normal C Melody case with an area for carrying a flute. Compare my saxophone with ... moreall the others on Ebay that are in playing condition. The silver is 100% intact. To have a saxophone silver plated today would cost over $250.00. The former owner obviously played the instrument some on this and insurance via FedEx Ground. THE MARTIN ALTO SAXOPHONE. 163941. VINTAGE 1948 SAX. FINE! Here is a very fine example of a post-war Martin Committee model alto. Also known as"The Martin Alto" as that is what is engraved on the bell. The original lacquer is about 85% intact, with wear spots around the engraving, touchpoints and other areas, as shown in the photos. Some light scratches and the pitting that is typical of these older Martins is also evident, but for a horn this old, it looks pretty darn good! There is hardly a dent or ding to be seen. Just a few very light blemishes, you have to hold it just right in the light to see them. Very clean. Matching serial numbers on the body and the neck(see photos) This horn was completely overhauled by Tim Moran Woodwinds about 2 years ago and looks like it was rarely played since. The pads look brand new. Not a stain ... moreon them. They are equipped with a set of Brass Reso-Tech resonators. All corks and felts were replaced. Springs were kept, but are completely rust-free. All keys move freely and easily, with no slop or lost motion. Original rollers move freely. In short, this horn needs absolutely NOTHING! It is all set up and ready to go. This model has the moveable thumb-rest, tear-drop octave thumb-rest and art-deco wire key guards. A very classy horn. Beautiful warm, vintage sound. Speaks easily from top to bottom. A gem. Vintage 1941 Martin Handcraft Committee II alto saxophone with Lion& Crown engraving in Good Condition. Serial Number: 142661 Made in Elkhart. IN, USA. Comes from the family of the original owner with original case. Strap, ligature, vintage mouthpiece and silver mouthpiece cover. Sax is fully intact. Fully functional and shows only light play wear. Bell is perfectly aligned. There are a few bumps on the bottom tube. Left side. Horn plays beautifully and sounds incredible. Will ship internationally. Martin's finest.
Up for auction is a 1940 Martin Committee II"Crown and Lion" alto saxophone. Made in Elkhart, Ind. The horn is dent and ding free. The finish is original but is largely worn. The nickel chrome plated keys also show wear. The sax has developed a consistent dark rich patina. This is the true color of the Committee II- notice how dark the horn is even wear lacquer is present. The vast majority of the Committee II saxes are re-lacquered. As the original lacquer was weak and not enduring. The engraving is all there, but obscured a bit from the patina and lacquer wear. Purported by some as the"cream of the crop" for Martin alto's, they are reputed to have better intonation than"The Martin Alto" model and to have a warmer, creamy tone. Could get light and fluffy enough for the"Desmond" thing.but it has ... moreplenty of power behind it. I found this to have a similar volume capacity to the Zephyr. Not quite as loud.but really close. The Zephyr can be illegally loud whereas the Martin Committee II will be"damn that's loud" kind of loud. A very light action. But it actually has some pop to it. The left pinky table is very manageable.much more so than the later"The Martin Alto" models. I have set up the horn to play from top to bottom beautifully with a beautiful vintage Martin big. Dark and rich sound due to the following: The sax was completely refurbished- all pads were replace with USA made high quality leather ones. Adjusted to improve action, improve altissimo and to make leak proof, cork and felt work updated where needed, springs checked and replaced where needed, oiled and play tested many times. The sax comes with an old case in fair condition- latches functional, handle present, etc. Why take the chance on buying a vintage horn that likely requires all of the above work. Often costing almost as much as the purchase price(or more, depending on what that price is) Finally, this is a NR auction. Good luck bidders! Note: No returns for non-continental USA a

Here's a nice old saxophone that had been owned and passed down in one family before I acquired it. Very nice engraving on the bell. Bell says The Great Gretsch American on it. Nice gold colored lacquer which is probably original to the horn. Not any noticeable dents. There are some scratches on the horn and wear on the keys and the normal use spots. Low pitch. Serial number 185703, and the neck matches. The octave mechanism is bent, so that will need some attention. Most of the keys work, except a lower one which I think will need a new spring. Probably will need the usual maintenance, cleaning, re-pad that an old horn like this usually needs. I was told this was a Martin stencil, but I do not know for sure, and I don't know if the person I bought it from had had it looked at or anything. The tone holes are beveled, and I did read ... moresomething about this in relation to the Martins, but I am not an expert so perhaps someone will know by looking at the pictures. I can say this, having held a lot of saxophones and tried out the keys, this one seems to have a great layout and very fast action, just a great feel to it. Comes with the old case as pictured, and an old Leo M Bundy#2 mouthpiece with a gold cover. Thanks for looking!

Up for bids is a wonderful old saxophone from a moving sale. The gentleman I purchased this from was in his sixties and played it in High school. It has not been played in many years. It has been in dry storage in a second floor closet of a climate controlled house. The serial numbers match on the body and neck. 171766. The instrument retains most of its original finish. There are a handful of small scattered dings. The bell measures about 6 3/16" All the keys and such move freely. No evidence of patches. Re-soldering or past repairs that I can see. I am sure this will require some sort of tune-up top get it back to top playing form, but it looks very nice. I do not play the saxophone, or any other instrument for that matter, so please email your questions and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for looking.

The Saxophone is a conical instrument. And to be acoustically aligned, the neck tenon should be conical as well. You have a fine saxophone, a fine mouthpiece, hand-picked reeds, so why settle for the design compromise that all manufacturers impose upon you. MartinMods offers a conical neck tenon and receiver. Machined from a solid brass rod. The tenon is made to match the end of your neck tube's inner diameter and the the end of your body tube's inner diameter perfectly. The length is identical to your original tenon receiver(some original tenons are short) No more cylindrical tenon bore inaccuracies. No more ridges, sharp edges, bumps, gaps, or up to 2mm ... morediameter mis-matches. A noticeable improvement in response. Tonal focus, intonation, and low register response. With Matching Receiver- The outside diameter of the tenon is slightly larger than the original so each tenon comes with a matching receiver. Also machined from solid brass. The receiver is made to match the outer diameter of your saxophone's body tube exactly. Can be easily installed by your local tech. Non destructive. Reinstall your original tenon/receiver at your leisure. In raw brass- no finish. Have your teck finish it as you desire. In order to match perfectly. I need exact mm measurments which require partial disassembly/desoldering of your horn. In order to match, your tubing must be perfectly round. Allow 5 Days For Fabrication. Email For More Info- info@martinmods.com Audio Demos- 2 samples with the conical tenon- 2 samples with an insert. The same dimensions as the original cylindrical tenon. Recorded on a Martin Indiana Alto with a Bari Richie Cole#5 mouthpiece, Rico 3.5 reed. HAVE FUN!

DESCRIPTION: Martin 1929 Handcraft Low Pitch alto saxophone. Serial#90504(in 2 places) This sax came from an estate sale(attic find) And in true form, has a very musky odor. Please note that I am not knowledgeable in musical instruments, and thus have taken many pictures, which serve as my description/condition. If you notice any parts/pieces missing. Assume they are not included. Comes as shown. Silver color, of course, is very tarnished. I did not try the sax out. So can't speak for its sound. From a visual standpoint, I didn't see any noticeable dings/dents. But please use the pictures as your guide. The Martin case has seen better days. About the most I can say for ... moreit. Is that it will protect the instrument during shipping. The case is banged up. Peeling, interior is rough, and it has that"musky" smell. You are bidding on a wonderful 1946 The Martin Alto Saxophone! Extremely well made horn that is in very nice shape for its age. With no dents or dings! Hasn't been played in years, but pads look to be in good condition, although this horn will surely benefit from new pads, a cleaning and an adjustment to be in tip top shape! Comes with some accesories and 2 keys for the case in the compartment. Case itself is in good functional condition with some cosmetic wear on its exterior commensurate with its age, latches all work, interior is in good shape but has a musty smell. Not mold or water damage, just age and horn stink. Martin mouthpiece. No reserve, no returns, no refunds, no exceptions. Upon this auction is used vintage NO NAME C me l ody saxophone mouthpiece. It has a"C" imprinted on right side of its table. The mouthpiece has tooth marks. Couple of tiny chips at the tip area, but those do not affect its playability or performance. It has a true large chamber. I used to play it with my Conn C melody, Buescher melody, and alto saxophones. It works fine and has a real dark tone on my alto. I am selling it AS IS without return. Any question is welcome. No Reserve! MartinMods Martin Conn King Buescher Selmer Lower Register Pip- For Any Saxophone*This is NOT an auction for a Saxophone! Please read CAREFULLY! This is a replacement lower register pip for any saxophone. It is based on the acoustically superior design of renouned acoustician Arthur H. Benade. A very common side effect on vintage horns of inferior register pip design. Is an excessively SHARP D2-G#2 range. This is primarily caused by a mouthpiece mismatch, but can also be accentuated by poor pip design. A large chambered mouthpiece will usually make intonation more manageable, but will not eliminate problems caused by the register pip. The intonation as well as response in this area on most horns can be improved by using this little pip, but then again, the pip won't cure mouthpiece mismatch problems. For optimal results, address ... moreall the causes. If your horn has good intonation, you will most likely notice a degree of added stability and improved response. MartinMods offers an acoustically improved replacement lower register pip for any saxopohone. Any size. Machined from a solid brass rod, it is made to fit your saxophone specifically. Easily installed by your local tech. Testimonial: Reply from a fine Swiss bari(Martin Committee I) Adrian Pflugshaupt. Hi Lance, It is done! Now the pip works and the result is awesome. Intonation does not change at all anymore when pressing the octave key! I still do get some hiss on D2. But I don't care about that at all now that intonation is very nice. Overall I now have a very nice sounding bari which does also have great intonation. The pip mod for the lower pip worked great! I think the horn got a bit more freeblowing(maybe just my imagination) and the sound maybe got just a tiny bit of extra high end. I'm very happy now and I'd like to say thank you very much! For auction is a vintage professional“The Martin” Committee III alto saxophone. This horn has a new set of small-rivet Precision pads installed(I believe these pads are similar to the original factory pads on the horn) The serial number is 200XXX dating the horn to 1956; the neck serial number matches the horn. There is lacquer loss on the back of the horn due to repair of the thumb rest(the thumb rest is original. But the bracket and screw are not original) and more on the side of the bell. Otherwise, the lacquer is nice, especially over the engraving(I can’t tell if the lacquer is original or not) The low Eb wire guard is slightly bent and has been re-soldered. Two points on the guard for the low B and Bb were also reattached. A few minor dings were professionally removed, so the horn is virtually ding-free. The horn plays great, plus you ... moreget that characteristic, sweet Martin sound. The horn comes in a refurbished. 50s era case(not original) The external material is faux emu with end caps of faux ostrich; the interior is a burgundy panne velvet. PayPal only. Sorry. But no international shipping on this item. I may consider international bidders with high feedback on a case-by-case basis; please email before bidding. UP FOR SELL IS A VINTAGE ELKHART. MARTIN STENCIL, C-MELODY SAXOPHONE. SERIAL NUMBER IS 52640. PADS ARE IN PLAYABLE CONDITION, THE CORK IS IN GOOD CONDITION. NO DENTS. COMES WITH A CASE. IF YOU NEED A C-MELODY SAXOPHONE THIS MIGHT BE FOR YOU.
This bid is for the Harwood Professional Jenkins Low Pitch Alto Sax Saxophone with an old Martin case. There is no moutpiece or any accessory comes with this saxophone. Martin case is very old and torn. Serial: 83676. I was just told by a professional advisor on this saxopohone: this appears to be a 1920s Buescher stencil. Meaning it was manufactured by Buescher and then sold to a music store to be engraved with their name. This one appears to have Snap-On resonators, which will make it slightly more valuable than one without. This would also need an overhaul, but that's normal for horns of that era. I am not an expert on sax. I was told this sax is from 1920s and still plays. But will need new cork and pads. Need some clean up work and adjustment if necessary. This saxophone is sold as is and I will not be responsible for any kind of ... morerepair work or adjustment charges(if any) after your purchase.
Four vintage saxophone ligatures. All for one low price, sold as is. One is marked Martin, one is marked France, and tow are unmarked, but appear to probably be King ligatures(not sure, but look like it, so not gauranteed to be Kings) Please enlarge all the pictures, to see close ups and detail of the 4 ligatures, then judge for yourself on condition and appearance, all four are being sold as is, no returns, all screws work great. Insurnace and delivery confirmaiton numbers are included in the shipping cost, along with package/box and all packing materials needed.
1957 The Martin Alto professional saxophone. Serial 202.XXX. This horn is in great physical condition and in good playing shape. Original lacquer and no damage beyond a few pencil eraser-sized dings. The mechanisms are all tight and the horn just came back from my tech all set to play. It's a very strong player and in the same general serial number range as Art Pepper's horn. All the classic"The Martin" touches, including four key left-hand pinkie table, adjustable thumb hook, wire guards, single big neck screw, etc. These horns have a lush, full sound. This one has excellent tone and very good intonation. I've moved to tenor exclusively at this point and just don't have a need for an alto, so I'm finally ready to part with it. If you're an alto player who's looking for that vintage"The Martin" ... moresound, I know you'll love this horn. And with it's natural beauty and condition(let's call the lacquer at 90% with the bell particularly nice in appearance) you'll also love how it looks. Pads are older, replaced as needed and most with plenty of life left. The case is in excellent condition: Solid, the leather's good, the latches work, the plush is good. I can answer any questions or take additional photos. As someone who's bought horns on eBay I understand the concerns of a no-return sale. So this is returnable if it's not right for you(standard eBay return policy) but please bid only if you're seriously looking for a great. Vintage alto sax.
