Our societal and environmental contribution

Théa, a committed group

Aware of sustainable development challenges, Théa is committed to implementing responsible practices at every stage of the product lifecycle, benefiting patients, healthcare professionals, and employees. Théa also contributes to the societal and economic development of its entire ecosystem and the preservation of natural resources wherever the group is present.

The implementation of responsible practices at Théa

The implementation of responsible practices at Théa

CSR is not just a theoretical concept

At Théa, it is embedded in our DNA. It holds a prominent place due to its history, its very nature, and its practices. Since its inception, the group has embodied fundamental principles of social responsibility.

Based on three pillars of commitment, Théa's CSR approach was structured in 2022.

Thus, around the world, Théa implements responsible practices at various levels, some examples of which include:

  • When Théa focuses on innovation while maintaining less profitable everyday products in the market, it is a commitment to serving patients.

  • When Théa promotes knowledge sharing or transitions ophthalmology into the era of "preservative-free," it is also a commitment to serving healthcare professionals.

  • When Théa allocates human and financial resources to the eco-design of its products, it is a commitment to minimizing its environmental footprint.

  • When Théa aims to maintain the best working conditions for its teams by supporting their skill development, it is a commitment to the women and men who make up the company.

  • When the Fondation Théa works for eye health in Africa, it is a commitment to millions of people for whom basic care is inaccessible.

  • Finally, when Théa supports local associations and actors in the development of territories, it is a commitment to the community.

The CSR policy aims to be deployed at all these levels and to go beyond national or international regulations in this area.

At Théa, fulfilling working conditions

Within each of its entities, the Théa group ensures the transmission and embodiment of its values. This is achieved through supportive management and the guidance of all its employees.

Specifically, the actions of the Théa group are numerous in creating a fulfilling work environment:

  • Improving the daily well-being of its employees: This involves multiple actions aimed at creating a higher quality work environment, promoting sustainable mobility, etc.

  • Health and safety at work are two strong commitments of Théa. Medical care, health insurance, retirement plans, modern and safe work tools, safety and prevention training, ergonomic advice, psychological support, etc., are all areas in which Théa intervenes.

  • Théa develops and supports a policy of equal opportunities, based on several principles: gender equality, true transparency in internal promotions, and inclusion of individuals with disabilities.

  • For Théa, every employee should be able to develop: cross-project management, training, and internal mobility are offered to everyone to enhance their skills. The goal? To enable each individual to thrive in their work and to progress continuously.

  • Théa also encourages its employees to participate in charitable or humanitarian actions: blood drives, solidarity sales, and donations of computer equipment are just a few examples of charitable and humanitarian actions implemented by Théa teams.
Addressing environmental challenges at Théa

Addressing environmental challenges at Théa

For Théa, it is essential to develop an understanding of the direct and indirect environmental impacts of the group and to identify concrete actions to reduce them, preserving the environment and natural resources at all levels.

  • Zero printed administrative documents: The main objective is to reduce paper printing. At Théa, the installation of new software allows for a paperless approach for legal and marketing documents. Additionally, Théa strives to select eco-friendly suppliers whenever possible, encourages the use of tablets for promoting its portfolio, and aims for dematerialized solutions.

  • Waste sorting: Laboratoires Théa have implemented recycling bins in workspaces. Our teams in the research laboratory are particularly involved and have established sorting systems for many years.

  • Use of more responsible materials: Whether for corporate gifts or furniture, the choice now leans toward recycled, eco-friendly, and/or locally sourced materials.

In parallel to these commitments, the Théa headquarters has chosen to collaborate with local partners for buildings, maintenance and upkeep, packaging, logistics and storage, IT, marketing and communication, events, intellectual property, R&D, HR, and travel.
